All generations have losers and alphas. My kid was born in 1999 and can fix just about anything wrong with anything, from a car to a computer to an old radio. He can build big, complex things. He has zero social media accounts and spends his free time on a skate or snowboard. He will drink a beer every now and again, but he completely prefers sober over any type of inebriation. He hates both parties but will vote Trump all the way. His friends are also wide awake. Only one of which submitted to the Vax, and that was because his father was very ill and he got tricked into believing it was the right thing to keep him safe (unfortunately, i believe that is exactly what killed his dad in the end). Knowing my son and his Z friends gives me much hope that they will be a generation that helps to drag us out of where we've ended up.

X'ers are riddled with the rotten bits, but I advise you not tangle with one on the off chance you picked one of the good ones. Not only do you get to spend more time (our most precious resource) with your kid, you also begin to blend in to their routine. They let their guard down around you and you become privy to everything going on in their world. You can catch developing issues early and intervine as necessary. Even better yet, after twenty-something years, you have some pretty slick young friends of your own. A little side bonus is that you become legend. Just for doing something that is super fun to do.
