These national chains moved in to neighborhoods and pushed local mom and pops out of business. The majority listed here are shit food that I rarely visit. Learned to cook at home during "covid" and have not looked back. Feel back for those about to lose their jobs, but at the end of the day people are voting for their wallet.
Yeah I don’t care about these chain restaurants going out of business at all. They are processed crap anyways.
On one hand, I lament the loss of jobs that will be suffered. On the other, it's time for a shakeup in our industry, and time for some of the oversaturated corporate shit-houses to disappear.
👌👍 Bring back local more....
So why are these restaurants closing; the economy?
The economy and people waking up to processed foods and seed oils.
The downside is the loss of jobs, with job loss comes repossession of cars and homes. The upside is better health because these places do not use the best ingredients. They use bad fats and oils, low quality meats, fatty gravies, deep fried foods, high fructose corn syrup and sugars, etc.
I don't know how anyone can eat the overprocessed, prepackaged, frozen crap that they sell at these corporate chain eateries.
Seriousy... where will people eat?
I am not joking. SO MANY people eat out all the time, even if just one meal a day.
Is this possibly part of the food control agenda?
Stop being lazy and cook your own food or go to an actual mom and pop or regional restaurant.
I think you are waaaaaay out of touch with just how far gone and dependent people are.
And you're grumpy.
I am not really. Eating out is more expensive than cooking at home. It’s nothing new.
I totally agree. I rarely eat out. I just know due to my work in the community that a huge portion of the people do. I would guess at least 20 percent have at least one meal from fast food. It's crazy.
Yup. I eat out on special occasions or I’ll get thai take out or something if for example first good day of spring the wife and I are doing yard work all day. But I haven’t been to a chain restaurant in years.
The loss of jobs does suck don’t get me wrong but I don’t feel sorry for the people that eat out all the time. That is just poor financial and nutritional planning. Dr. Paul Saldino does great videos about how to get nutritional food even at a place like 7/11 if you are in a pinch. Hell at a place like Jackson’s gas stations you can get a fruit cup, hard boiled eggs and a meat and cheese cup now. Sure not organic but better then seed oils at Applebee’s.
Again, totally agree, and we are very similar in our patterns.
The thing that concerns me is how many humans are not capable of the simple things you described. What you described as simple expectations ofthe a verage person does not even pop up on the conscious radar for so many people.
I am anti-WEF, of course... but I will say that the phrase "useless eaters" has some merit to it. But I am not judging, and Iam not wanting people to be "thinned out" . I just know that too many people don't have the capacity that you yourself have, nor will they ever have it. I cannot explain why, but my guess is that TV and video games (and then the internet) turned their mindsto mush. They will never see their own patterns, and thus they will never be able to initiate their own breaking out of them. So when something goes missing, they're suddenly on a path to crisis. Kind of like the ants in the beginning of "Bugs Life" when the leaf falls over their path. They are stuck.
Eating out is 8 times more expensive on average. Plus the tip.
There are no restaurants in Utopia. You'll have little food, and be Happy!
All garbage food, nice to go once in a while but these killed all the mom & pop luncheonette's etc. I wont miss them.
People rarely go out to eat. They do not need a physical store to deliver.
If you think about all the employees, all the suppliers of food and equipment, all the transport companies/drivers that deliver goods to these restaurants there will be a shitload of people out of work...this will trickle down and affect lots of folks. I'm not a go out and eat person so this does not bother me that they are closing, its just a shame so many people will be out of work.
All these restaurants will close and nobody will bat an eye because . . . . there is a giant GLUT of restaurants in the United States. I have said for years that this continued growth of restaurants is unsustainable.
People, by nature, seek out “something new”. Restaurants that they supported (for a while) are forgotten as they try new things. Some become “standards” but many do not gain that kind of market penetration. People’s “restaurant rotation” can only hold so many selections at a time.
I used to do work for olive garden and red lobster. My.checks came from general.mills who owned them. Wonder who is behind these others?
