Unfortunately, a dating app will make no difference, as the problem is psychological and cultural. Japan needs to take a hard look at themselves in a mirror and analyze what cultural mores they engage in that cause men and women to not want to be in relationships, and to not want children even when in one. Japan's work culture is destructive, no one has time to have a family, or even a marriage. Japan's egalitarian expectations of both genders at work and in education, like feminism here in the west, turn women into pseudo men, and simply put- men don't have children. Japanese culture is valuing academic and business achievement above family, and the result is a lack of children.
It's been the same for 50 years. Why is not now a problem?
Japanese culture is valuing academic and business achievement above family
I wouldn't say this. Japan has a strong family culture and has more three generation households than you probably imagine. Rural Japan and Urban Japan are two veryvery different things.
It is, like it is every where else, simply about the money. The men will work the long hours if you make the pay package acceptable. They're not doing this because business everywhere has been monopolized. This hurts the consumer market but it DESTROYS the labor market.
There's no labor mobility, no easy chance to change companies, no big raises used to tempt workers from one business to another. It ices the whole labor market out and forces people to accept lower wages for work than they otherwise would.
They've pushed this to the absolute limit, and so now you have people who would rather do nothing all day, then trade their labor for a pittance.
Then you can post utterly bullshit articles all day about the "birth rate problem" and how many "adult diapers japan buys!" Or now, the "government created a dating app it's so desperate!" It's a dumb rigged game with a fake embarrassment ritual designed to extract the last bit of cash from the empire while keeping everyone too depressed to do anything about it.
It's been the same for 50 years. Why is not now a problem?
Generational decay. People raised in the old world, before everything was broken, retain their cultural behaviors, but subsequent generations internalize the new rules and things go wrong. 50-60 years for cultural changes to show their full effects is normal.
Rural Japan and Urban Japan are two very very different things.
Of course, but their birthrate is catastrophic nonetheless.

Locally.. create programs that encourage women to stay out of the work force, and that make various short term loan facilities available to citizens attempting to start small family businesses.
Globally.. destroy the wall street/isreal/china alliance.
Your first point cannot be achieved until the second point is addressed. It's no longer feasible for women to be stay-at-home housewives, unless their husbands have very high-paying jobs. The middle class here in Japan is taxed to death and worked to death.
Do what our politicians require for the United States. Allow felons, criminals, countries emptying out their prisons and mental heath institutions into out nation so they can rape our children, daughters, sisters, mothers and grand mothers Prove me wrong
The real problem is the caustic family court systems that have been put into place to purposely cause rift in families by making it extremely biased towards women. This is causing men to drop out of the society as they hear dread stories of how badly people around them got shafted.
On top of this, the pop culture is slowly being made more and more toxic - a lot of things similar to what happened in 60s and 70s in the west, while at the same time a constant barrage of "how destructive Japanese culture is".
Japanese culture is one of the most resilient to Western propaganda for a very long time, but its slowly succumbing to the same tricks played against us in the past.
Every Country for the most part naturally organizes itself in a Pyramid structure. Including Multi-Cultural ones That is something more or less inherent to organized human society. There is always some form of Elite. And there’s always someone at the top.

I agree 100%.
So what would you propose as a solution?
Locally.. create programs that encourage women to stay out of the work force, and that make various short term loan facilities available to citizens attempting to start small family businesses.
Globally.. destroy the wall street/isreal/china alliance.

Improve the cost of living:national average income ratio is as baseline as it gets.
So, socialist government programs?
Barefoot to sandals to Barefoot in 3 Generations.
May you live in interesting times.
Both are ancient Chinese curses. Cycles are a bitch when you don't learn from history.
It cant hurt.....😉

This is why I am against triablism and single cultural countries.
Every organized country will automatically align in a pyramid structure.
Only the less than 1% will be innovators and influencers at the top. The rest will be administrator / labor types.
The admin / labor types tend to follow the "leaders" at the top.
So the majority will run around waiting for someone else to tell them what their identity should be.
What happens when millions are use to following outdated or bad traditions?

I agree.
It's much easier to not follow the sheep when you live amoung people from all over the world.
Each unique culture has their own stories to tell.
