From an unusually good source: Obama’s tweet supporting Joe Biden was disingenuous. In private, Obama is telling people Biden can’t win, and he is therefore in favor of an open convention. Obama will not say whom he supports, nor as of yesterday afternoon had he met personally with Biden to deliver the message. Relations between the Obamas and the Bidens have never been warm. At times they’ve been hostile. But recently they’ve deteriorated further, mostly due to Jill Biden. In the hours and days after the debate, she kept her husband cloistered away from anyone who might convince him to drop out. Jill Biden is the driving force behind her husband’s reelection campaign, just as she was in 2020, when other members of the family (including Biden’s sister Val) considered him too impaired to run. The next generation of potential Democratic candidates understands all this as an opportunity and they’re circling, particularly Gretchen Whitmer, who is promoting herself aggressively.
I'd love to see an open convention for the Dems. By that I mean, we open all the closets of those who are nominated and bare the skeletons in real time. Then within seconds the world will see the corruption the Democrats want to perpetuate. Trump says we have it all and I'd like to see him use it all.
They will just ignore it, or won't believe it. They have seen a frail old man with dementia every day for 3 1/2 years with the ability to launch nukes. They didn't care.
Disingenuous or not, it surely bolstered Biden’s image with voters who are too invested in the Biden fairy tale to admit they were duped. It also gave the Biden’s the cover they need to run out the clock on the Dems. As long as Joe refuses to quit and release his delegates they can’t have an open convention.
If Joe refuses to step aside the Dems options are pretty much limited to the 25th Amendment which only VP Harris can invoke. She might be dumb, but not dumb enough to be the hatchet man and not be the replacement nominee. And, if the Biden’s fight it the process takes a minimum of 23 days.
All this leaves me wondering if Jill Biden is smarter than BO? Or, is BO playing a game to placate the Establishment Dems whil keeping his puppet in the race?
