Replace "Our democracy" with "Our criminal enterprises" and it makes so much more sense.
Corporations are all Democracies , many can descent but the CEO is King/God.
And the definition of "citizen" is property own and controlled by the corporation.

And we did not want our comfortable lifestyles disrupted, but they did it anyway and they were having fun doing it--to achieve their ideologies. We became complacent and they took advantage. Our need to remain vigilant is very important or people like this will keep taking advantage and disrupt our lifestyles continually, and they will still, if we let them. These people need to be punished to fullest extent of the law. But first they need to be charged, tried, and convicted.
Every one of them has that smug duper's delight smirk on their face. We'll see who gets the last laugh.
