I suppose at least some of you have been interested in the UFO - or now, UAP - phenomena? And know how tightly owls seem to be connected to the wilder parts of that?
Not just abductees see and remember owls. Sometimes those have been assumed to be some sort of screen memories, masking what might have been some of those aliens - or "aliens" - that they encountered. But owls seem to pop up in a lot of stories of simply seeing something like weird lights in the sky too. And in ways that make it look most likely that what was seen was actually real owls, not some sort of hallucinations or screen memories.
And then there is that cabal fascination with owls. Owl statues, owl pictures, owls owls owls...
What the h*ll is it about owls? They are sort of cute, at least the very young ones are, if somewhat stupid seeming birds (in spite of that mythological connection with wisdom they are supposedly among, if not the most stupid, of all birds of prey).
Why owls?
The Owls Are Not What They Seem! 😉
David Lynch was all over this in 1990 with owls, petroglyphs, sylvan abduction, classified ops, outer space messaging, Glastonbury Grove and so. Given the trajectory of the intervening 35 years one wonders what he knows.
I remember reading of one abduction experience where a couple were driving down a road late at night and out in the middle of nowhere when a light descended from the sky and landed onto the center of the road preventing their crossing. Their vehicle's engine died but the headlights remained on. The light was an actual large craft with bright pulsing lights. Soon, a couple of creatures came out and began approaching the vehicle.
The couple stayed in their disabled car and were frozen in fear. The two upright walking creatures approached their vehicle and as they got closer appeared to be a pair of 3 ft tall Owls. They stood there staring at the occupants in the vehicle.
The couple then they found themselves about 100 miles farther on the road with no memory how they got there and a block of missing time.
Their interpretation was the owl was the imbedded memory to overwrite the actual memory of the creatures that abducted them. The Owl false memory was given because it was a familiar creature and would be less alarming than the real creature.

Owls represent deep wisdom and insight for their large eyes. Sometimes this representation is used by beings who have deep wisdom and insight, and sometimes it is abused by beings who wish they had deep wisdom and insight.
Makes sense!
Can you find the little owl looking down on a $1 bill? 🤔
Have you seen the aerial street view of DC with the outline of an owl around a certain building? Coincidence? 🤔
As a kid, about 11 I read a book, The Owl Service, by Alan Garner, I have a signed book by him, The Moon of Gomroth, part of a series, similar to Lord of the Rings, but for younger children. Based on old Myths and Legends.
The Owl Service was a bit scary, strange scratchy noises in the Attic!
The Owl Service - Wikipedia The Owl Service is a low fantasy novel for young adults by Alan Garner, published by Collins in 1967. Set in modern Wales, it is an adaptation of the story of the mythical Welsh woman Blodeuwedd, an "expression of the myth" in the author's words. Garner won the annual Carnegie Medal from the Library Association
Owls can see in the dark, so in mythology, the occult, and secret societies, they're symbolic of hidden knowledge that only the initiated/illuminated can see, while everyone else is "in the dark".
Well, hopefully they fit the people who chose them as their symbols in all ways then, as while owls may see in the dark and be efficient hunters, they aren't particularly intelligent in the sense problem solving requires, or for what would be required for adjusting to changing circumstances.
So, change the rules of the game, and they might be stumped to the point where they no longer can figure out what to do in order to stay afloat because none of their old tricks work anymore.

If you are claiming that memories of Owl is related to alien abductions, you will have to provide at least some examples of people claiming such, or stories where owls pop up in relation to seeing weird lights in the sky etc.
Personally, I have seen owls in magic / wizard stories, but never in anything related to UFOs.
There is a book about that. Mike Clelland, Owls, Synchronicity and the UFO Abductee. Okay, it actually seems to be a trilogy of books, but I have only read the first one.
And several youtube videos by several people, he's not the only one who talks about that. Whitley Strieber who has written several books about his alleged alien contacts talks about owls as being used to mask the memories of those contacts, and in several books I have read it is claimed that if you have any weird owl encounters you might want to start digging into those memories as they may mask something else.
In fact, if you read more about the whole phenomena, owls will be talked about sooner or later.
Okay thanks, definitely interesting.
also twin peaks has heavy references to both owls and mysterious space stuff. if you have never watched that, you totally should
I have heard of it, never watched.
I can highly recommend "Twin Peaks." It's one of those shows that sucks you in because it is so radically different from anything else you've ever seen. Tons of symbolism in it.
Thanks!
Check out the Fourth Kind. It's a movie, based on real events with ( supposedly ) actual footage of some of the interviews. Point is, all of these people claimed to see an owl outside their window the night they were 'abducted'.

Somebody who claims personal experiences. Who knows if they are true, but as said, the connection seems to be claimed by a lot of people who think or claim they have had those experiences.
