Maybe he normally carries but not at the rally. Instinct kicking in? Or could be security hidden in the crowd for some charging the stage or pulling out a weapon of some sort that a sniper can’t be used to stop.
The people that close to Trump would have been thoroughly vetted. If he had a gun he was SS in plain clothes. They are not going to let another Bobby Kennedy killing where someone walks up and takes a shot point blank take place.
If Trump gets taken out it will be with a long range shot. It shocked me that they held the rally that close to a water tower unless they had SS snipers on the tower. An expert marksman can hit a target at a 1000 yards consistently.
Um, if I'm correct. I'm pretty sure I saw that guy later on pulling out his phone. I'm wondering if he was wondering whether or not to pull out his phone to record what just happened....or to get on the ground.

I like the hidden security detail theory. I think they lines up well then a random spectator being armed
My observation has been the 2 females on stage and around the SUV. Completely incapable of doing their job during a crisis
Absolutely. I'm female and immediately wondered wTF a 5 foot tall woman is the front body guard. She was crouched under his armpit.
And not tall enough to act as a shield for someone almost a foot taller and twice as wide.
Even if it ain't a thing, ARCHIVE IT

Watched it multiple times. He takes a cellphone out of his pocket and then puts it back in his pocket.
You are correct, I deleted this post.
Thank you for your analysis.
Any spectator at an event like that you would surely get shot pulling a gun out, so a good thing he hesitated, if that was what he was doing?
I noticed him last night...and what appeared to be the top slide to a pistol...but then it just looked like his phone.
He was talking to the woman in the red shirt/hat - pretty sure both were on the security team by the way they were trying to communicate on the DL.
