A friend of mine has struggled with some pretty strong chronic anxiety issues for many years now and things have worsened. Mostly, he is constantly anxious and worrying all of the time. I've looked into what I can find on my own, other than the usual, avoid these foods, eat these foods, exercise...etc., but is there any other effective option? I've even tried looking into supplements, which seems to have helped him some, but it's not 100%. Are there any studies of parasitic infections that could cause this? Maybe he needs prayer as he could be under attack from the enemy? I'm at a loss. He has even prayed over it and he has told me he keeps running into all sorts of signs telling him to trust God and not worry in various forms. When he seems to get the message, he stops seeing those signs and he relaxes for a while, only to revert later. He has even gone to random churches where a pastor straight up said he felt compelled to give a specific sermon over again and it would pertain to his anxiety. He will see the same numbers on the clock over and over, feel like he has to look up a bible verse and it ends up being along the lines of trusting God (Psalm 91, John 11:11 for example) I think it helps him, but he still struggles. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Clearly, I think God is answering him and telling him to be calm.

Yes. Parasites, they do. At least try ivermectin for 5 days, and again in two weeks, for five more days. Been there done that! Also: Please get the book, The Mood Cure. The help lies in amino acids, vite D3 (15000 iu) and B vites and as you no doubt already know, no sugar (use stevia) and eat meat and animal fats. He needs to listen to Jordan Peterson. That man was ready for the psyche ward at one point. He turned it completely around. Best wishes for your friend. He absolutely must, go outside and get grounded (bare feet on dirt) for 10 minutes, in the sun. Read why this is so effective. But to summarize, Earth affects the electrons in the body. In the mind. It is amazing.
Thank you!
Did you mean 1500?i tried to find 15000 on Amazon but couldn't
Thank you for the info!
Breathing exercises. I cannot stress this enough. Anxiety can be traced back to bad breathing patterns. Most Dr want to put you on meds but all it does is alter heart rates and breathing unnaturally. Grab control of your breathing, you'll grab control of your anxiety. I get it ls probably easier said than done but begins with taking long breaths and trying to limit your movement to slow your heartrate
This is what cured it for someone I know:
Tell them to breathe in sharply and hold, for five counts, then breathe it all out as much as possible. Repeat four times.
Say Lord's prayer, and think about it, while they do it. Ask St Michael to help too, because he stand guard.
Some people cannot start breathing, and are making little breaths. Sit behind them, hold their back and pray. Then try and get them to just breathe all the 'bad air' out, then take quick breath and hold, as before. It will take a little coaxing.
So far, I think this is helping him in the short term. I told him to try this first.
Doing the hard work. Work thru what is triggering the worry/fear/fight-or-flight/lies/trauma/self. If someone can help with this, counselor, therapist, good friend, it's helpful.
Control the thoughts. If a lie comes thru, counter it immediately with truth or even something else. Like "Hell" comes in my head, I counter it with "Heaven" or sometimes "Hello" to get my mind out of that rut. The mind can be changed out of destruction and toxic thoughts, it takes time and work.
Fill the mind and heart with scripture.
Mindfulness and looking for positive. My mind wants to make lists of the bad things, I have to force myself to look for good things.
Listening prayer with God. Time alone with Him, thinking of something good and pleasant (like a memory of a good time). In this joyful mode, ask Him what He wants you to know. He can give a word or a picture that makes an instant connection with our Father and Creator.
Healthy diet and good sleep of course can help. But filling the mind with good has been key for me.
I second the breathing. Practice when calm so you can do it when stressed. When stressed, take a lot of long breaths...don't do 3 and then say, "It's not working!" No, do 10, 11, 12... before giving up : )
Thank you!
My husband gets anxiety attacks. He gets dizzy, light headed and a few times passed out. The doctors were no help. Gave him adivan at the hospital and it helped but prescribed him an antihistamine because he was a medical marijuanna card holder and they can't give him narcotics if he has that card. No matter he wouldn't take those anyways. So I did alot of research and started making him ghost pipe tincture. One handful of the plant makes enough tincture to last a year. When he feels an attack coming on he drops a little on his tounge and it works almost immediately. Please do some research on this, it might help.
Good to know! Thanks!
Before the allopathic meds drivel started the go to treatment for anxiety and depression was Vervain (Verbena officinalis L)
There has been next to no studies done on this as compared to other meds, here is one I have found: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7253814/
I hope this helps.
Can attest to that. Also have been using Forskolin which is remarkable, in many respects.
Thank you!
Lithium orotate. It puts the chill on nicely, is available as a supplement. It is very mild. They used to put it in 7-UP!
I will look into that. Thanks!
If you completely surrender yourself to Jesus (or any higher power you believe in), its a sure way to get rid of chronic anxiety. Getting there, however, is a different issue.
I wholeheartedly believe a Trump victory will work wonders for anxiety.
I'm sure that will just about cure all our ills at this point fren!
For a more specific answer, and you guys may have heard this before, try placing left hand over stomach, picturing a pond or lake and breath in, hold, then out, longer than intake. 4, 7, 8. A seconds count if that helps. Breathe in through nose, out through mouth. The visualization is an extra that I use. As you picture the body of water, calm any waves to ripples then to pristine calm until as if flat glass. As you get experienced with this technique you'll be able to call up the state of calm easier and with less effort. Have used it to get better scores on blood pressure checks and to keep the cross hairs steady. Wife is a studying naturapath and im an enthusiast for non-allopathic remedies, having studied hypnosis extensively as well. Also, if you live where it's available, harvesting a bit of mugwort and making some tea gives me a crazy relaxed day on the following. Best of luck, fren.
I've heard good things about Magnesium Glycinate!
I'll dig into that one! Thank you!
There are different causes for anxiety. A relatively common but somewhat overlooked cause is from overactive/exhausted adrenals. There are natural treatments for this.
Unless your friend is exceptionally in-tune with how his body feels, unfortunately, the only way to diagnose such a thing is through lab work.
Trusting God kills all anxiety.
I keep telling him that! He needs to listen.
Anxiety isn’t necessarily a bad thing - sometimes it’s just a sign that you’re going in the wrong direction, or it could signify some underlying physical condition. In any case, putting one’s trust in God is the ultimate cure.
My sister died of cancer, she was a 3 pack a day smoker. She delayed surgery for a short time to be in attendance for her Grandaughter's recital. The best case was to remove a lung. Anyway her Dr. prescribed an anti-anxiety med. and she took it a few days and then threw it away. "I have Cancer, I'm supposed to have anxiety!"
I feel for him as when I was 21 yo I lost 2 babies in the same year. February and December 1981 was the worst year of my life. My anxiety/depression was not a family trait as psychologists say there are two kinds. Mine was brought about by the loss of my babies/ A tragedy in my life. I was medicated, went to a psychiatrist and attended an anxiety class every day for months. Nothing was helping. I resorted to drinking which does no one any good.
Then one day I'd had enough. I was determined to beat this thing. I was tired of the hyperventilating, the feeling of doom, the feeling as if I was running from something I had no escape from. I even walked outside in the snow barefoot for some unknown reason. But anyway, I too prayed to God. I got really really angry as I felt that God was not listening to me. But I know he was. I just needed reminded of his mercy, his grace, his comfort and his healing. That final day, I stood up and yelled to myself and most likely to God, "I WAS ME ONCE, AND I WILL BE ME AGAIN." Then I threw the medication away, I stopped going to the meetings and visiting the psychiatrist. I stood on my own two feet, held my head up and went about my day. Every time a feeling of doom would come crawling in, I would get busy and find something to do. I even learned/self-taught myself to play rhythm guitar. That in itself was a triumph.
So tell your friend to never give up. He too will find through God what it is he needs. And there will always be a time when TADA! that anxious feeling will come calling, but (1) KNOW IT FOR WHAT IT IS (2) BRUSH IT OFF (3) FIND SOMETHING TO DO and then you will realize that YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER IT; IT DOES NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER YOU. God bless.
I appreciate this! I will make sure he sees this. I'm sorry to hear about your 2 babies.
Thank you. That was many years ago. After those losses, 3 years later I had my son and then 18 months later I had my daughter. God always turns a tragedy into a blessing. Also, my advice is not to throw his medications away like I did Unless he is certain he can make it without them. All I knew was I wanted to be me again, and that meant no meds. I pray that God blesses him greatly and brings him out of this just like he did me. Have a great weekend.
It turned out alright then! He's completely anti-pharma, which is great, so no meds. Thanks for the prayers! Enjoy your weekend as well!
P.S. And now I have 12 grandchildren. BLESSINGS!
Sounds like a Happy ending!
Anxiety is doom and gloom. But once you overcome it, it's being positive of everything and knowing you can beat it.
I'm not a medical doctor but here's some advice from my experience:
Without further medical info I don't think we can help much. Could be a chemical imbalance in the brain. I know for some anxiety sufferers once they take certain medication they get better. There's lexapro and zoloft that can be prescribed by a doctor but they have side effects. If you want to go the natural route take ashwagandha. It's an herb that is known to help with anxiety. I use it myself daily and it cured my social anxiety. I take 2100mg daily with x3 5-HTP (100mg) doses a day (Amazon link: https://tinyurl.com/2w9sa34a).
WARNING: If your friend is allergic to the nighshade family of plants (ie tomatoes, etc), then do not take ashwagandha.
A safe route is taking x1 dose of 2100 mg ashwagandha a day for the rest of your life. It has no side effects that are bad for you that I know of or yet to experience myself. I only experienced side effects when taking high doses. With that said, it takes awhile for you to notice a difference. I would say about a month. It's a natural herb so it takes time for body to absorb. If your friend wants to speed up the process, then he can do what my dumb ass did:
When starting, I took three doses of 2100mg a day (Morning, Lunch, Dinner). I don't recommend doing this for more than two weeks. While doing these x3 doses, if your friend starts to feel side effects like small allergic reactions (I felt my tonsils swelling), stop immediately and wait 24 hrs. Lower the dose to x2 2100mg a day and continue. If the allergic reaction still continues then wait 48 hrs and lower the dose to 2100mg a day. I didn't get allergic reactions after that. Probably because the starting dose was very high. (I study herbs and like to experiment on myself). The reason why I recommend taking such a high dose at first is because it takes a while for natural supplements to work and I wanted to get off of pharma meds. You can speed up the process by taking controlled high doses of this herb in particular as there is very little chance of overdosing. Of course, don't be stupid and try to cheat nature by over doing it. This is only to speed up the process slightly. If after two weeks of doing the initial x3 daily doses and your friend is fine then switch to x1 2100mg dose a day. Continue forever on this. No side effects.
On a side note, 5-HTP helps the body by being converted into serotonin and can help with anxiety. That's why I use it with ashwagandha. I haven't had any side effects from taking it.
RE: ashwagandha can make one feel joyless when using it for months, even as it really evens things out buautifully, and tackles low blood sugar/sugar cravings and therefore starts sculpting the body (bodybuilders like it). It nudges one into better habits, and enhances uptake of all sorts of minerals, protein, creatin etc.
Forskilin has similar qualities - it's a root, and does all those things. Traditionally it was taken as a tonic for health. It can be more sustainable in terms of gentle nudging and regulating things like sleep (no waking in the middle of night, covered in terror-sweats) and elimination (aaaaah) - excellent to take down adrenalin surges, nausea etc.
Ginseng helps too, if one wants to get technical. I have pulled myself out of depression and accident trauma with ginseng - it was my first adventure into herbal options, when I became red-pilled vs. the Pharma/Industrail complex. There are lots of Chinese remedies that inorporate it, as drops or tea-crystals, and it tastes nice too.
I'll try Forskolin then. I have always been emotionless at times so I probably didn't notice the joyless side effect. I didn't even know about the joyless side effect. Thanks Fren!
I don't think I have had the joyless part myself. I have been taking that herb for a bit for mood and focus. I didn't know about it helps with sugar levels and helps with protein! I will warn my friend about it, but Forskilin is one I've not heard. I will look into it. Thanks fren!
Forskolin
I was typing too fast before.
But yeah it is impressive.
I've heard quite a bit out Ashwagandha, I even use it in lower doses. Cheers! I will recommend this as well. I don't think I mentioned it to him.
I have had panic attacks and anxiety but the best is what my doctor and one before recommended and took themselves for years and IT WORKS! You can buy it over the counter most everywhere. Sam-E. I take it every day.
I'll research this! Thanks fren!
Lots of good solutions posted here. Your friend seems to be drawn to the Word of God, has he tried listening to Bible studies as he goes throughout his day? I realize this may not be possible with work, but finding a Bible study to listen to as he goes about his day may reduce his stress levels. There are several out there, two of my favorites- Dr. j Vernon Magee, he explains it so that kids understand it. Chuck Missler is great especially for those with mathematical or scientific interests. Both are deceased. You can find Magee at ttb.org, there is a free app as well. Missler can be found at k-house.tv - he too has a free app. Hope your friend finds a solution.
Thank you! He has started going to church more. If I recall, he has a "youth" or young/early mid age adult singles group, whatever the adult version is.
My favorite show to watch right now is The Chosen. You can find it free everywhere, Amazon prime, YouTube, it even has its own app. I’m an A type trying to learn to not be an A type and this show’s portrayal of the disciples interacting with Jesus just makes me happy.
A good wife and kids, with a good job and hard work. Then Turn MSM OFF.
I have found comfort in the thought that life is scary, but I must accept the adventure and the fact that it is beyond my control and wait to see what happens. Have faith and fear not.
Breathing properly is a good solution. Cycling up a hill shouldn't affect your breathing, that's why you use lower gears, but people make themselves breathe poorly. I have been climbing all the stairs where I work, and am learning to stop less for breathing. Goal to eventually not need to stop. 3 sets of stairs of varying numbers of steps. 1,516 total. Last Sunday was my first time doing them 2X for 3,032 total, but one round was before midnight and the other started at 3:00 AM, not that the second round was the first time I did the 1516 steps with a total time of only 40 min. Stair runners do that in 10 min. but I have no desire to break more bones, no need to try and run.
Ive been struggling quite bad with anxiety everyday over the last few weeks.
Some days its not there, other days it pounds me all day.
Im still trying to find answers
Throw away the tvs
Strongly recommend meditation. I believe you when you say that your friend is receiving answers from God or angels telling him to relax.
I know so many people that are experiencing increased levels of anxiety right now. It's happened to me as well. It will come in phases. It lasts a few weeks, and then subsides. Only to repeat the pattern a couple months later. Almost as if we are being conditioned for something.
There is so much we don't understand about this point in time. 10 years ago it was very rare to get large spikes in the 4th and 5th overtones of the Schumann resonance. But lately, it's become common. Things are changing everywhere. Energy is building all around us.
Why was 2030 so important anyway? What do they really know that we don't? It has to be more than just the reboot of the financial system. "This is a spiritual war" is more than just a metaphor.
Seriously, tell your friend to lean into it and meditate. Allow the anxiety to flow through him and dissipate. Don't fight it. Consider it just as you would exercise. I think these unexplained periods of anxiety we're all experiencing are just side effects of a much deeper process.
Thanks! You're right, we're all waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Look into Mimosa (tree) flower tea and tincture. Study up on it.
Will do! Thanks fren!
An AR with tons of .556 and a membership at the local range.
Thank you everyone for your replies!
even though I have seen testimony to its effectiveness, I would not recommend, unless well-guided.
You don't need guidance with dmt... there's nothing no one can do. It last 5 minutes then it's over. It's good to have some encouragement but I dove in all by myself with no problems. It's not like ayahuasca or mushrooms.
