All the ports that were just on strike will be devastated if that happens. That will cause a MAJOR Supply chain interruption along with transportation problems with road and train track destruction.
Traveling through Kansas we saw a big group of BNSF trucks at the hotel we were at. Didn’t get a chance to see any of the guys to ask if they’re headed to NC or FL.
So I listened until he said the temps on the east coast of Florida's waters are warmer than the gulf. That is just wrong. If anything they a couple degrees cooler Easy to check. 85-87 .Every storm we get these guys who think the storm is going off course by a HUGE margin and they are wrong almost every single time. Downvote away but this is plain ole dooming. He also said it would intensify before hitting landfall in florida. They have it hitting as a 3. Maybe it goes up to a 4 but that is not a huge prediction as the wind speeds from a strong 3 to a weak 4 is not much. Lets keep this up and see if he's right. I bet my left arm he is full of shit.
Upvote here. As I was listening to the guy, I went to Windy looking at sea temps. Appear to be same on either side of Florida.
I pray he's wrong as I have family on the coast in North and South Carolina.
I bet that is exactly where it goes. Out to the atlantic and dies in cooler temps because the atlantic is cooler than the gulf. Something else he was wrong about.
All I gotta say is NC can't stand any more damage. Our coast line was hit with a non named storm two weeks before Helene came into the Western part of our state and they are still trying to clean up from all the flooding there.
A friend of mine was an Exxon Ship captain before he got fired for not vaccinating. Here’s what he said about this storm:
This hurricane will have major impacts on both West (total devastation) and something nobody is talking about, the North East Fl coast from the strongest Nor’easter in decades off the left lobe of the low pressure system as it moves off the coast. The NE’ly winds blowing against the gulf stream will generate massive waves. I sincerely hope no marine traffic is anywhere along the East coast come Thursday, as the dangerous effects for ships at sea will be from well north of Cape Hatteras NC to Cape Canaveral FL. in the gulf-stream.
Routes to resupply Southern Fl could be severely compromised, that could cause quite a shitshow. Glad you guys are up here.
I am very concerned for Tampa and points south out to 100 miles. The onshore winds will cause storm surge for 24hrs a double high tide surge, I have never seen that setup before, (though I’m sure it has happened in the past), it will be devastating.
... of course, it'll be unfair if all those poor, poor storm victims cannot vote in the upcoming election, so bureaucrats will once again 'change the rules' at the last possible second ... to help the poor, helpless dead, felons, senile, and illegals, err, storm victim's voices be heard, and not to avoid timely court scrutiny, of course.
Milton will go wherever they steer it to go.
If they do that, It will prove the government directed it to destroy the east coast

Sounds like someone's pulling all the stops to shut down the Eastern ports.
The last-minute longshoreman's deal must have been a surprise then ...

Exactly this.
Very possible as there is a possible hurricane --depression off the cost right now
Fuck. I was thinking this just a minute ago. Boomerang.

Maybe Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, NYC, Boston?
Yeah I've been dreaming this would happen. So hope this time those dreams are wrong. Unfortunately last time, they were spot on.
And Milton heads out into the Atlantic as a weak cat 1.
