And also to stop using the nonsense word 'misinfornation'. There was no such thing until fact-checkers started propagating it after Trump won 2016. It beggars belief that they invent literally Orwellian language, seed it into consciousness and everyone just accepts it instead of going 'hang on...'
Misinformation is actually in my 1965 7th Webster Collegiate Dictionary. Extention of the word misinformed, which is a polite way of saying you're full of sh*t (I also think it's a gentle way of imposing censorship, so ironically I do agree with you. It's like calling the right to murder your children pro choice)
Oh granted, but it was arcane and obsolescent until fuck chuckers sorry fact checkers. The status of 'dis' and 'mal' would be interesting lol. And a zillion updoots to you for preserving dictionaries.
If you adjusted that chart for age/demographics, you'd notice some very interesting trends. Older folks, who grew up with Huntley/Brinkley in the 1960s, trust the TV as truth. And, of course, libs trust the MSM because it feeds them what they want to hear.
what I find interesting is that it peaked in or around 1976 (depending on a couple of factors, including how often it was polled for, which seems to be every four years, right alongside presidential elections).
It's a shame we don't have more granular data, or else we might be able to see what factor/factors led to the decline. It's too early to be the internet, and too late to be vietnam or JFK (although it could be a delayed effect).
my best guess is it may have had something to do with watergate/nixon.
I’m 70 my friends are 60-80, fifty years in one town. We as a group of We Built USA, do not watch the news on television. In fact I have a tv not sure when it was on last. My news source GAW, x22, lots of talk radio like my favorite Rush, (Bless his soul) All on my lap top.
Just like the medical industry, absolutely annihilated any and all credibility they had through their blatant lying, censorship, and complete lack of transparency and accountability.

The word "misinformation" goes hand in hand with the term "conspiracy theorist".
There is no other speech besides free speech. What anyone does with it is none of their business.
Stay out of the weeds.
"Misinformation" is to speech what "gun control" is to guns... it only punishes the lawful and enables the criminals.
JimmyDore is awesome, he debunks a lot
the reality is corporate mass media is the thing that needs to be punished for misinformation.

So thia suggests we may be down to only 1/3 of the country being mindless drones of the Democrat party!
Get rid of media as well after we clean out the government.
The 31% that still trust them, is that the “you can fool some of the people all of the time”?
You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
