My husband loves that Organic Milk sold by the Amish. We have an Amish General Store right down the road. I live in the country so to estimate where they are is about 1 1/2 to 2 city blocks. He loves the milk because it is raw and has heavy cream on top. It also comes in those old-fashioned glass bottles that you can return for your deposit. Love the Amish people as they live a simple life.
My Uncle (may he rest in peace) used to work and live on a Dairy Farm. He would milk the cows in the morning and at night. We used to go visit on the weekends as there were as many of his kids as there were of us, so we loved going to play with them. At Suppertime, my Aunt would send the oldest cousin down to the Milking Barn with a Metal Pitcher. ( I will never forget that pitcher as I had never saw a metal one before.) We would watch our Uncle put the suction cups on the cows who were eating feed to occupy them while they were milked. We could see the milk go through the glass tubes around the room and into a big Steel Vat. This is where my cousin would dip the huge metal pitcher inside and come up with the raw milk filled with cream and all. Those were the good old days.
What gets pissed about the situation the most was that they did an armed raid on the guy. This is just a dispute over a regulation, swarming the farm with armed agents is such overkill it seems to cross the line into bullying. (Also, aren’t the Amish pacifists?)
They are very old fashioned and that's not always for the better. Women are treated as second class citizens. Where I live, we see this firsthand when a Mennonite/Amish couple have to do business outside of their own society, like officiate a land purchase. If the woman has to be present to sign a document, she stands two paces behind the man and quietly waits to be told what to do by him.
That being said, I'd choose them for neighbors every time over the hordes of illegals that I used to live around in southern California.
I'm not sure, but my guess is that it's "Raw" milk as opposed to "Organic". I'm sure it's organic also, but organic milk is easy to come by in all stores, raw milk isn't. I used to drive into PA to get raw milk. In fact I think one time when the place I usually go to was closed for some reason I might have actually picked up some raw milk at Amos Miller's farm.

I wish I can have some. The best milk is raw milk.
I'd send you some, but it would be ruined before you got it. KEK! Nothing like spoiled milk to turn ones stomach.
I only had it twice and was hooked. I would love to have some more. LOL

Wow. You have good experience. I would love some of those good milk. When we were in the west coast, they have this major war against raw milk.

Government being bully? You kidding me? Of course they are. Look at James O'Keefe.
Beautiful parade! Love it!
Yes. They have beautiful carriages and horses.
I lost a lot of respect for the Amish when I learned, and researched that they run some of the worst puppy mills in the country.
That is true..they look at dogs as livestock
Never heard of it.

...The Amish should sell Trump quilts, lmao.
or hell, sell hand-made trump flags.
Yes, they can definitely do that.
they know if one of them is raided and shut down so will the rest of them. the government won't stop at just one.
i'm glad they are fighting for their way of life.
This is from 2020 but nonetheless...
He just won this year
I realize that.
The vid is from 2020 though...
Amen.
Good for them. They need to get involved and we need them. Good people. Awesome values. Love the Amish!
I should meet some of them. I never have.
That's nice, but have you seen an Amish on steroids? https://greatawakening.win/p/199OFpq4vf/amish-for-trump-those-sparks-kek/c/
Don't think they hook on lights to their buggies. Hey I might be wrong.
