In high school I told all my friends I was not going to college and they told me I was a moron who would waste my life. I told them it was a waste of money with no job guarantee. I went on to start my own business. It took decades but to see them all now, in their 40's working shit jobs, and STILL complaining about their student loans brings me so much gratification. I don't rub it in their faces but I would love too.
The Department of Education was started in 1979 as a campaign promise to the NEO (teacher union) because Carter's approval rating were shit. As already stated it's unconstitutional just like the FBI, ATF, IRS, ad infinitum.

I'd usually be there either end of the year or in the beginning of the year. End if year I'd witness them flipping BRAND NEW textbooks into the dumpster (and other things) - and I asked, "Couldn't another school use those NEW books?"
"We were instructed to dispose of them because otherwise we wouldn't get the money next year"... First time I heard this I was shocked, but understand, this sort of thing happens in government/military bases on a regular basis. The level of waste is unparalleled... and nobody gives a shy because it's not their money (it IS but they don't care) - It's completely f'd up.
Hopefully POTUS and Elon put an end to the budget bullshit... and in turn, the waste. Like Q said:
