God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
Well played Captain.
Amen, fren!
Or flip it on its head and point out the left idolizing George Floyd.
Left are immune to hypocrisy. You have to keep it direct.
This works less well than you'd think, because they're too busy screeching at you for being a "racist bigot" to understand that maybe George Floyd wasn't so good and they were very wrong to idolize him.
Plus an easy rebuttal is that nobody was trying to elect him president.
We had a meme of that a few days ago.
I don’t know which of the two I like better. Probably this one.
Pointing out their hypocrisy has no effect on them. Pointing out that they have no control on the other hand…
The lie they tell us is that Trump is a convicted felon. That is a lie! Trump is NOT a convicted felon. BTW a DA does not get to invent laws to try to throw someone in jail.
While correct, this is a bigger own then diving into legal nuances with people that don't know legalities from genders.
He hasn’t been sentenced and any conviction is estopped while appeals are in progress.
I have never heard the word "estoppel" before, and at first I thought it was a typo.
But it's real.
Yup, if you hang around enough lawyers or armchair lawyers you'll hear that term a lot.
It should have been “estopped”, I fixed the typo.
Well, I don't get to learn a lot about the language we use anymore but you have certainly humbled me since it's not something I've ever heard.
Appreciate the unintentional lesson.
Thank you. I try to make everyone around me a little bit smarter. Some here don't appreciate that. I'm a bit of a spelling and grammar autist despite my geekish education and career.
It's a legal term of art that I've picked up somewhere in the last sixty years.
I just read it with a Mexican accent
Somewhat ironically. He was only convicted by the Romans because the Pharisees and Elders threatened to stir the people into a revolt against the Romans.
For context. About a 70 year period of successive rebellions against Roman Authority in the Eastern Empire roughly termed the “Roman-Jewish wars”. A few decades after the crucifixion of Jesus. Resulted in over 1 Million Casualties potentially far higher.
With 1 Roman Legion destroyed outright in heavy fighting. And 3 more crippled. And hundreds of thousands of Roman Civilians and Imperial Administration/Non-Combatants killed, wounded or missing.
The Death of an innocent man. However regrettable was a price any Imperial Colonial Administration likely would have willingly paid to avoid the cost in blood and treasure putting down a revolt.
The Romans were the blade wielded by the Pharisees and Jewish Elites. And to his credit Pilate realized this. Hence the symbolic washing of hands. Ala “We might be the tools. But his blood is on your hands.”
How can you be Christian and support abortion is the right question
I don't see how you can call yourself a Christian and support infanticide.
The moment the phrase "how can you call yourself a Christian" is uttered, that's my cue to exit the conversation.
The person asking that question never understands Christianity.
Not to belabour a point, but his conviction was tossed because the jury couldn't keep their mouths shut for ONE MORE DAY.
And not to belabour THAT point, but his conviction was designed to be tossed on appeal anyway, the jury just beat the appeals courts to it.
Pilate said, "I find no guilt in this man." Christ was acquitted yet received the death penalty regardless.
Yes. Jesus was the best rebel. True rebellion is going against evil. Everyday we need to discern what is evil and check ourselves first.
