yes, Hebrews of the 12 anceint tribes of israel are not Jews, the word jew wasn't even invented until something like the 17 century? I forgot the exact date.
How do explain the Bible mentioning Jew, Jews 299 times in Old and New Testament. The earliest example is found in 2 Kings 16:6
“At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day”
The Jews, not the Israelites. Two different nations. People have fallen for the "Jews are Israelites" for about 5200 yrs now. Israelites are supposedly "God's Chosen People," or "People of God, the Highest." Jews are "followers of Judah." Jesus was a Jew in name only because of the city-state he was born in. Ancient Israel and ancient Judea are two different nations who practiced two different styles of Hebrewism. It's been so conflated and purposely confused over 5700 yrs that one could easily forget that while Jesus was born a Jew, a citizen of Judea, he was not a practicing Jew in the eyes of the High Rabbis. In this aspect, Jesus was the first Christian.
He was a descendant of David, who was a descendant of Judah, which genealogically would make him a Jew, if “Jew” refers to “descendants of Judah, and presently more generally of the other tribes as well”.
For a long time following his ministry, his followers were considered a sect of Judaism (or whatever it may have been called at the time). They were originally referred to as “followers of The Way”.
Jesus often went to the synagogues, attended the feasts, and followed the written Torah that was given to Moses. The rabbis that found him to not be practicing Torah were referring to “traditions” or the practices of the oral Torah and rulings. He chastised them for making the requirements of being observant too heavy to keep.
Judeans are not necessarily Jews either, that's how muddled it is now.
Never saw that coming
Strong's Greek/Hebrew Dictionary offers some clarification on the usage of the word "Jew" in scripture. The word can refer to "a country" or place such as Judea. You can be referred to as a "Judean" but not be a "Jew" in the sense of your bloodline.

Some of our bible was edited around (1908(((Scofield Bible(), the excuse was to make it more easily readable, so small changes like the word Hebrew or Israelite they was changed to Jew. The word Jew wasn't even created until 13 centuries after the death of Jesus Christ(1300ad) Notice a few years later in 1013 the Federal Reserve was created. A YEAR LATER WORLD WAR 1 kicks off. and lets not forget about the titanic in the middle of all that with important key people dying on that ship in 1912
