And Pornhub will be excluded from social media restrictions... Why, exactly?

Get the government off the internet. Parents being the authority in their home is one thing. But said parents don’t want to patrol their children’s internet. They want the government to do it and it sounds like you support it. Are you an idiot?
Name calling are we? At what age should parents let their children on the internet? So you are the type of parent that won't "patrol" what their children access on line? So you acknowledge that parents are "the authority in their home" yet they shouldn't patrol their children's internet usage?
That's up to the parents to decide for their own families, not the nanny state's. Parents absolutely should parent.
The context of this post is from Australia. I would suspect that most of us commenting on this post are not from Australia. And the question of this Australian law was whether it would apply to a site like Pornhub? For after all it applies to YouTube. What is the purpose of the law? Reportedly it's to protect children from harm on the internet. That being the case does it make sense to apply the law to YouTube but not a site like Pornhub? Now look - it might be a bad law from the censorship standpoint but that is not what is being asked by Senator Canavan. His question is a reasonable & valid one and should be answered.
But here in the US I believe this statement applies: The Supreme Court has ruled that, “transmitting obscenity and child pornography, whether via the Internet or other means, is... illegal under federal law for both adults and juveniles.” -Reno v. ACLU, 521 U.S. 844 (1998).....keep reading more on this subject at: https://www.justice.gov/criminal/criminal-ceos/obscenity.
"Parents to decide for their own families"? Seems like the Supreme Court has already decided! As a parent & grandparent I want the law enforced.
Australia Boom! Nice addition Anon!
As an Aussie we see this as digital Id.
It's to force everyone no matter the age to prove who they are and track everything we do online.
Children is the cover up for the agenda
I was exposed to pornography as a child, left alone to the internet, in the early 2000s. While it had some pull when I was younger and curious, thank God I’m not an addict. However, I know MANY PEOPLE exposed to pornography as a child and it brought some very serious consequences. Erectile dysfunction IS A SIDE EFFECT OF PORNOGRAPHY ABUSE. But “oh no! Don’t take muh pron” 😑
I've been wondering about all the erectile dysfunction ads on TV. I couldn't believe there could be that many people with that problem, but now, it all makes sense!
Porn, plus processed foods, plus fluoride in our drinking water plus.....childhood vaccines, plus.....
and older men being waaay overmedicated for high blood pressure, heart irregularities, diabetes, etc. That stuff will shut down men fast
Yeah, it's weird in the last couple years or so.... you cant even get on FB, Youtube, etc without seeing a "bluechew" ad and it's always young 20ish people. Like, yall should not need ED pills at that age.
"I couldn't believe there could be that many people with that problem,"
At your apparent age, you probably can't. But enlarged prostates are a common cause of "that problem."
Not to mention the "grooming" aspect. The seeds of perversion get planted deep in a child's soul making them targets for some very evil people.
ED, premature greying and balding, hair thinning, brittle/rigid nails
