For what its worth, there is rotary-wing gunnery scheduled in that area:

Have you seen Russians drone attacks on Ukraine tanks. Shits brutal.
C4 explosive on a drone then flys right near tank and goodbye tank.
Wow, we now live in a world with kamikaze aces due to drone tech.
In that area Is McQuire AFB, Fort Dix, and Lakehurst NAS. Back in the 1960's there was a Bomarc missile base with nuc capability between the AFB and Fort, one of the Bomarc missiles had an accident with a nuc on the tip and there was contamination of radiation from this, supposedly cleaned up by now. Back in the Nike and Bomarc defense days.
Fort dix use to be a Basic Combat Training base, not sure of its use today. Spent many summers there in the 70's with the reserves. McQuire is used more in transport to Europe than a defense airbase it use to be. I think it still provides defense for the New York area s few fighter jets. Lakehurst is Lakehurst more a training facility than anything else. You can still see the huge dirigible hangers that were built in the 30's. The German dirigible Hindenburg blew up there.
Back in its day, Belle Meade NJ had an arms depot but I believe it has been long ago discontinued.
Earle Ammunition Depot did at one time store nuc's but that was along time ago. Don't know if they still do.
Picatinny Arsenal I don't know to much about but I thought it was decomissioned back in the 60's.
Picatinny is still active and doing R&D.
Thanks for the update. It has been a long time since I have been in North Jersey.
Great dig!

WHAT THE FUCK DUDES?
Cancel the airshow/tests and go up there and get one of these things.
Live fire drills while the whole state in on HIGH ALERT for drones. Job well done Military. Damn
Not a big deal. It’s a handful of drones hyped up by the media.
Military live fires are planned months ahead to get range availability. Why would they not continue training.
What if the drones are aliens from mothership Iran and the galactic overlords, wouldn’t you want the pilots to complete their gunnery qualifications?
Lazy posting, there’s absolutely a base nearby. Not to dox myself but there’s a winery there that used to do movie nights out on the lawn and I swear the base knew which night it was and would do crazy low passes with pretty awesome planes. I wasn’t complaining, I preferred that over the movie
I believe they were b1-b’s
Even if it’s us and a live training session, shouldn’t the government be telling us what is going on? Considering the heighten awareness of the drones and their camping out on the coasts, they should say something so we don’t panic potentially. The whole thing is unusual and it’s hard to know if the drones are good or bad.
Military training to stop a drone attack?
Normal training.
live fire in N.J.?
Never been to NJ. We have a lot of them out west.
Doesn't Need Jersey have the most population density the U.S. seems strange to have a live fire exercise - at night to . I think you would see alot of video clips posted about people freaking out.and if they could just hear the noise from it. They would be scared. .
I used to live near a live fire and artillery impact zone.
You get used to it. If they have one. But now that I think more about it,they probably don't do that back east.
It just seems odd to have live fire military exercises over highly populated residential areas. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
Former PRNJ resident... You'd be surprised at how much open space there is in the state, especially the further away from EWR and the metro areas around NYC and Philly. The Pine Barrens stretch from almost the middle of the state in Ocean County all the way down to just off the Delaware Bay into Cumberland and Cape May Counties.

The area where Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst is on the northern edge, It's location can be seen here in this detailed map just south of Six Flags Great Adventure.

This is a very low-density area and I agree with others, the video is a nothing burger.
thx for the info
Why don't they fly in the daytime? Less dramatic?
NVG drills. This is a nothing burger.
It's almost like they're trying to take the news cycle away from the Did He parties that note the usurper and his dude:

Now if you had a larger drone that could carry and launch fireworks, we could make a REALLY cool news cycle video of it fighting THIS guy!

This shit just go real

Well, that changes the game.
Thanks for the update
Definitely military... They load a tracer every fourth or fifth round on a belt. Enteresting that the gun can't be heard, so it is quite a distance away.
Someone mentioned these things look like projections ..
Who knew project blue beam would be this easy lol
That's an awful quiet gun...
my guess is that it isn't shooting anything, but rather there's a line of smaller drones with synched lights, all in a row to make it look like it's shooting
Slender thought, but it will be believable if nothing was hit.
