Sadly, this would only prolongthe inevitable. Most people have become too wrapped up in self-gratification and instant-gratification. They will spend what they have and more, and never have enough.
We need hard times--waaaay beyond what we are experiencing now--to re-program the entitled mentality that burdens our culture.
Trump cannot fix this systemic disconnect from hardship, reality, and self-reliance. We are broken. Globally. Prepare accordingly.
I lived in a small town (<4,000), off the road network, for eight years. Every time the Mayor announced a wage increase, (because they couldn't attract & keep competent people), the local housing authority jacked up the rent by a similiar % ... followed shortly thereafter by the grocery store, the two restaurants, the gas station, the hardware store, etc.
I concur the income tax must go. But how to do it without getting stabbed in the twig & berries by the wannabe robber barons salivating at all that 'free' untaxed cash is a nightmare.
So do it gradually, something like fix all federal income tax rates at current level in 2025; then reduce each tax bracket by a full 1% point per year until the bracket reaches zero.
Outside a constitution amendment, I can not think of any way of keeping future politicians from fucking it up though.
I think the American people should also receive a large cash stimulus. It is needed so badly by so many. We the People have been robbed for far too long.
Two different outcomes from two different sources.
Lowering income tax doesn't cost the employer anything extra. It puts no additional burden on them that could force them to change their hiring practices, layoff workers, or be forced to increase prices to avoid potential bankruptcy. When wages go up it drags everything up with it because the money has to be made back at the expense of the people. When taxes go down the burden doesn't increase on the employers so there's no risk of people being forced out of business or forced to sell / layoff.
We want people to have more money but there are ways to do it
Judging by the regular references to Annexing Canada. Coming from both Trump and people who occupied positions in his previous administration. Stands to reason the 51st state references may in fact not entirely be a running joke. But a sneak preview.
As long as it isn’t replaced with something equally draconian or the states raise their taxes so it becomes a zero gain benefit to the citizens. Our states are often as corrupt as the federal government. Cleaning one but not the other 50 would be like cleaning only half the toilet bowl.
The Fed must be simultaneously abolished or they'll use the interest rate to replace any burden removed from us by the abolition of the tax.
Agreed!
Username checks out :)
Amen! I can hold off on buying something and can save for it instead of having income tax TAKEN every payday!
That and usery in general
Amen, it's the only logical outcome. The time for grifting off the populace is over. We are awakened and they are finished.
I'm ready for blockchain transaction, recordkeeping and patents.
Aiding and abetting Nazis (Ukraine), bioweapons (pandemic), human trafficking and waste, fraud and abuse is beyond...
But wait, there's more!
To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. Thomas Jefferson.
Why do you hate white men trying to serve our own interests?
When Zelly released Tornado from prison, evil was released.

Sorry for the reality check.

The function of the income tax is to skim off excess liquidity in the economy that is due to the fiat money system printer going brrrr.
Good point, great pumpkin.
Yeah for real, I pay close to $50k a year and don't get shit

Maybe DJT will give Americans tax relief after oath of office?
And czn we please go back to constitutional money? Gold and silver backed dollars?
Can we add property tax too?? Ha
Why do you support lowering income tax but oppose raising wages?

And how do you expect to keep certain people from having too much money?

Also, getting rid of the anti-competitive regulations stopping regular people from opening up their own businesses.
Until this happens we are not free.
It’s gonna happen, trust me.
