Republicans have not yet decided whether to reintroduce their spending bill through a simple majority procedure, but congressional leaders confirm no further votes are planned tonight.
Lawmakers are heading home with just 28 hours remaining to avoid a government shutdown.
The last shutdown occurred during Trump's first term in December 2018--January 2019.
The next steps remain unclear as the clock ticks toward the deadline.
