Americans as a whole are now realizing what it’s like to be treated as the South has been treated for a century and a half:
Your heritage, culture, and sovereignty mean nothing.
You are stupid and backwards and lazy, never mind any history which suggests otherwise—that’s actively being erased and forgotten—and if you say any different, you’re proving the point.
You have to be lorded over by foreigners… it’s for your own good.
And because you’re so inept and lazy, we need to industrialize your economy to the point where nothing good about family and country and land matters anymore.
You are an economic zone, lab rats for drug hustlers, and an international embarrassment deserving nothing more than the most thorough exploitation.
And if nothing is done, Americans will become reconstructed and reeducated beyond recognition, relegated to second class citizens in their own land, and taught to hate the forefathers who stood to fight for them.
As was predicted:
“The cause of the South [has become] the cause of us all.”
Your heritage, culture, and sovereignty mean nothing.
Also add reeducation. And it happened to the Indian tribes first. Being Southern and of native heritage it's been taught to me since I was a child who spent summers on the rez with my grandfather.
This. They replaced culture with Nobel victim or drunk and lazy. Both stereotypes dehumanize people and any lessons they learned. Basically turning all tribes into one charcuterie board of BS fashion and guilt bombs. Much native culture is also preserved in “white”and “Mexican “ families who rejected the rez and its indoctrination. Hiding their race to gain a chance at self determination. “Cheekbones” never should have gotten past the front door with her obvious con not only did she take education opportunities but she got to be a voice with no actual cultural knowledge.
People of the South make the lowest incomes making a college education almost impossible for most families to send their kids. College is too expensive and IF HIGHER education was available over the internet instead of campuses with liberal indoctrination, we would have plenty of engineers and programmers for the business world. IMHO

Its always amusing how these excrement gluttons talk about slavery like it was only ever done by someone else, and not something ”they/them, they/themselves” are actively supporting RIGHT NOW.
Was that really the question? Maybe the letter General Lee wrote as to the reasons he supported the South may enlighten about the stakes.
In his letter to P.G.T. Beauregard in October 1865 he wrote:
True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary, at one period, to that which it does at another, and the motive which impels them—the desire to do right— is precisely the same. The circumstances which govern their actions change; and their conduct must conform to the new order of things.
Interestingly, the same inquiry can be done with regard to General George Washington.
The narrative, shoved down our throats often blinds us from the range of color with regard to the considerations made in that moment of time.
Mark Twain extensively made mention of this when addressing patriotism. Of course we probably know about the scarcity of the patriot when it is not that fancy, and after the difficulty of choice in those early day, the ranks swell.
But note please, that Mark Twain also noticed something else, namely what has been reverted to the dustbin: i.e. the real choice, the real freedom.
Hence, it is understood that real patriotism has nothing to do with the sort of government is in power, but is a moral choice about freedom.
This can also be gleaned from Washington' s Farewell Address
We can thank the Democrat Party for the ruin of the South, both through the slavery that they thought to make permanent, the civil war that they started to prevent any other outcome, and the Jim Crow de facto neutralization of slave emancipation. Followed by the Great Society program that destroyed the black families by making the husbands and fathers superfluous, and the creation of the New Plantation, where ballots are harvested instead of cotton.
Don't confuse the politics of the South with the people or culture of the South. "The Cause of the South" had always been perpetuation of slavery with or without union to the rest of America. Don't let that poison entrance you.

It was the inevitable outcome to federal rights taking over state rights

There's little in the universe that can outpace the human capacity for ignorance or selective blindness
Stars and Bars Forever.
Does this mean democrats get to own slaves again?

I guess a joke is sometimes not a joke. Even when it is.
:-)
While speaking in jest, you broached an important question lying beneath.
I knew it! Democrats do want their slaves back. :)
God bless you.
