With these forms and regulations they rule us, because they are the REGULATOR.
Exactly. I'm all for preserving and protecting the natural environment. But so much of the "Enfironmental Protection" webwork of legislation is nothing more than tightening government control over the population.

The LADWP tried upgrading fire-resistant power lines in 2019.
Their crime? Disturbing 182 milkvetch plants during construction.
California's response?
A $2M fine and mandatory "plant diversity" programs.
Because apparently, non-native plants are more threatening than actual fires.

Meanwhile, homeless encampments average 24 fires per day.
But when Good Samaritans caught a man with a flamethrower this week?
Police cited "lack of probable cause" for arson charges.
The kicker? Insurance Commissioner Lara just banned insurers from dropping homeowners in fire zones.
Because apparently, you can regulate away reality in California.

I really don't care about California's problems, because they did it to themselves. Stupidity multiplied by more stupidity = current fire "crisis".
In reality, California set up the perfect conditions for catastrophic fires... and then they are surprised when it happened.
TPTB knew exactly what would happen - it was, most.likely, the plan. 'Just accelerates the move toward "Smart LA", clears land for '28 Olympics construction and for a rail system, and makes all other land that much easier to grab and regulate.
Time for the people of California to demand all the nutcases resign now. This won’t bring back lives lost, houses destroyed or families destroyed but it will prevent further destruction and mismanagement. Because mark my words, those officials in their ivory towers will still demand their pound of flesh: payment of real estate taxes (despite zero home left) and conformance to current regulations to rebuild. Oh, you can’t afford to comply? Too bad. California will pay you pennies for your land, even though California is in debt to their eyeballs and beyond due to mismanagement, money stealing and money laundering. After all Newsome learned from the best, his Auntie Pelosi.

White ash, burned out rims and glass, vegetation untouched just feet away from a total burnout, one section of an attached building burned but the rest untouched. Really wild, all the same signs. None of the plastic trash cans are melted just like the other suspicious fires, they seem to be thrown in the street like someone is going to pick them up to get rid of them. Nothing makes sense….. totally illogical.
