Federal holidays usually meant no school to me lol. We had school during Lincoln and Washington's birthdays. We just had mlk day on the 20th which was also inauguration day, my little grandaughter who's six knows he was a great man she was telling me they talked about him in school. However you're right need get back to learning about these great men and our history of this great nation again in schools and on our own we can educate our own children we now have such wonderful tools like the internet. I was fortunate enough to have the entire world book encyclopedia set at home so I read them all when I was a kid lol.
