From what I've researched so far, it seems that high LDL (bad) cholesterol is what causes the sticky plaque to build up in the arteries, so that's why I was wondering about yours. I'm also refusing statins, don't worry!! Will you be continuing this protocol forever, or can you dial it down to smaller doses now, for prevention?
What type of tests did you have to confirm that this works? Did you have a heart calcium CT scan? My dr wants me to have one because of high cholesterol.
