We have way more Mexican illegals and naturalized U.S. citizens with family still in Mexico who could potentially be targeted by the Cartels. Not to mention all the U.S. citizens that work throughout Mexico that could also be targeted.
Also, how would you like to be living in a U.S. border town and wake up to bombing or strafing runs being made less than a 1/4 mile away from you? Some of the Cartel hidey holes and drug labs are that close. Some of the Mexican border towns are even more densely packed than our border towns, and some of the leaders live within spitting distance of a border crossing, so getting to them requires a little more finesse than sending a Reaper after them. We know where most of the high level HVTs live and operate, so we could have small teams go in, roll them up, and be back on our side of the border before anyone knows what happened. That's a lot easier than trying to ensure there aren't any civilian casualties from a drone strike. I would only use drone strikes or bombing runs on the more secluded drug production labs and any Cartel training camps they may have.

Ok, then we should go all through our border, flood all the tunnels we find, post our hardest and heaviest pipe hitters in sniper hides all along our border to back up CBP/ICE ops, and take all the drone and SIGINT/HUMINT we have on the Cartels and where their door plants are, and start drone striking the shit out of them, their business associates, govt contacts, and their families until there's nothing left of them. And while we're doing that, we sanction the shit out of Mexico and their pols until they're personal financially bankrupt, and also tariff them into accepting 7th Group SF with open arms.
There's more than a few credible reports of Sheinbaum working directly with and for the Cartels in order to get elected. Her election is the only one in my lifetime where 20-30+ other viable candidates died of "mysterious circumstances" or were outright assassinated by the Cartels, and I don't hear anyone talking about it in the MSM OR among the citizen independent journalists since her swearing in. It's like people are just wanting to forget about certain things so they can move on.

Edit: I'd also send in FORMER CAG and DEVGRU guys on singleton and two-man, maybe even 4-6 man team missions to develop target packages and maybe even go roll up certain HVTs when the opportunites present themselves, take them to predetermined undisclosed locations, and then Gordon even more info from them. Lastly, there's reports of former U.S. Special Forces Green Berets who've gone off reservation and are actively training the Cartels in every aspect of unconventional warfare. If this is true, we need to start investigating and targeting them for neutralization immediately. This can be done by declaring them persona non-grata.
