Trump's immigration policy is federal law and interfering with deporting illegal aliens is obstruction, which is a felony. Frame this correctly. It's not that elected officials will go to jail because they oppose Trumps "policies." The should go to jail because they are breaking federal law and violating their sacred oath of office.

Leftist logic. NPR stating that Schumer and others who literally threatened Trump are having their first amendment rights threatened by being investigated for literally threatening Trump.
They think they can say and do anything because they have gotten away with it for years.
Anyone opposing deporting illegals and passing laws or aiding illegals in any way, is guilty of violating US 1324.

Passed in committee doesn't mean it's law. What is this? An attempt to placate citizens- make them think congress is doing something? In order for something to be a law, BOTH houses of congress must pass it and then it must be signed by the president before it's actually law. But the bottom line is, defending and protecting our country from invasion is the number one job of the federal government. So essentially, the laws have been in place for centuries. They just haven't been enforced recently.
The good news is, this is just a state senator from TN. She is not in Congress.

For context, the bill says it's illegal for elected officials to vote for sanctuary cities. Not just that someone votes against his general policies.

The context isn't what it seems. It may be a judgement in this context, but that's not the actual situation. Bureaucrats don't speak legitimately and directly.
No one is above the law. If that means the President is considered guilty before proven innocent, or threatened to be jailed without enough evidence, then that same motion is valid against any politician. Precedent already set. Remember, he even set another precedent by following the law and going to jail, re: the mugshot.

Everything Trump is doing right now is legal because the Deep State has been setting all of this stuff up so that they could swoop in and use the Presidency as a hammer with which to smash the American people down. Hillary was supposed to win, remember? The apparatus was set up so she end the US as we know it.
Now that Trump is taking a wrecking ball to all of it, I don't want new shit to be set up that can be used as a cudgel later. Don't poison the well because some day you may be thirsty!
Further, we don't need new laws if they're already breaking the old ones. Just enforce existing law. New laws with vague terms are the Deep State's MO, and the grey area they operate in to take over.
