Just to start, how did Mandela manage to get a law degree under such Inhumane conditions?
β’ Was it inhumane for whites to have built TEN Universities for blacks during Apartheid?
β’ Didn't this inhumane Government increase its budget on black education by 30% every year?
β’ Paid for by white taxes.
β’ How was it possible in such inhumane conditions, for 65% of black South African children to be at school, compared to Egypt 64%, Nigeria 57%, Ghana52%, Tanzania50% and Ethiopia 29%?
β’ How was it possible in such inhumane conditions, that 71% of black adults in South Africa could read and write, compared to Kenya 47%, Egypt 38%, Nigeria 34% and Mozambique 26%?
β’ Didn't these 'inhumane racist whites' build 15 new classrooms for black schools, EVERY working day, EVERY year?
β’ How was it possible in such inhumane conditions, for the black population to grow from 5 million to 40 million?
β’ If the Apartheid regime was so inhumane, why did it spend 56% of its annual budget on blacks?
β’ If it was so inhumane, how was it possible for black living standards to rise by 5.4% per year?
β’ If it was so inhumane, how did Soweto get 115 football fields, 3 rugby fields, 4 athletic tracks, 11 cricket pitched, 2 golf courses, 47 tennis courts, 7 swimming pools built to Olympic standards, 5 bowling alleys, 81 netball fields, 39 children's play parks, and 78 civic halls, 42 cinemas, 48 clubhouses, 316 churches, 378 schools, 2 technical colleges, 8 clinics, 63 child day care centres, 11 Post Offices, and its own fruit and vegetable market?
β’ All paid for by white taxes!
β’ If it was SO bad, why did Soweto alone have more cars, taxis, schools, churches and sport facilities than most independent countries in Africa?
β’ more private vehicles than the entire white population of the USSR at the time?
β’ Who gave Blacks the Baragwanath Hospital for free? The biggest hospital in the world, with 3245 beds and at its peak almost 8200 staff?
β’ It had 23 operation theatres fitted out with the most modern medical equipment that existed in the world; where Blacks were treated and operated on, at full government subsidies, costs to the white taxpayers for unlimited periods.
β’ The budget of this hospital was higher than the yearly budget of most small member states of the United Nations.
β’ It employed 456 medical doctors in full-time service.
β’ It treated 112 000 in-patients and 1.76 million out-patients per year.
β’ The children and infant death rate with 34.8 per 1000 was lower than Harlem in New York.
β’ In 1982 alone, this hospital performed 908 heart operations of world standard on Black patients.
β’ 94% of the blood donors to that hospital, whites?
β’ Who gave the blacks the St. John's Eye Clinic, world famous for the treatment of Glaucoma, cataracts, eye traumatic injuries and rare tropical diseases?
β’ All built and maintained by white taxpayers money for blacks.
β’ And remember that 92% of the inhumane whites voted for change in South Africa in the referendum of 17 March 1992.
But hey; let's keep on blaming the whites and apartheid 30 years after an entire country, in perfect working condition, was handed over to Black majority rule.
Thanks for the recent-history lesson, Purkiss80.
I didn't know any of that.
My Pleasure...And Yeah, Not a Lot of people know it eitherπππ»
I think the over-looming takeaway from ALL colonial experiences of all European nations (and American too) is that you can take the savage out of the jungle, but you can never truly take the jungle out of the savage.
Having myself once served in an American area in an otherwise Third World country, where the pacified American area was a near paradise, and a few steps across the dividing line took one into a massive barrio and/or jungle that spread for miles in all directions, I could see firsthand how decades of the American presence and culture made very little impression on those people... they PREFERRED their squalor and ignorance.
Without identifying where it was (I don't wish to antagonize anyone), I'll just say that any ideas that that nation would adopt Pax Americana was completely irrational, and quite an impossible task.
Maybe America needs to pull back from being the world's policeman/calming influence and become more isolationist in its dealings. Get our own house in order before we begin exporting its virtues to the rest of the world.
Friend, you'll get no argument from me on that. Our sole involvement with other nations should be trade; otherwise, as George Washington pointed out in his farewell address, we need to avoid "foreign entanglements" of wars and proxy wars.
The place where I served actually had (and still does have) a strategic real-world value for the US. It was only a byproduct of that strategic place that any kind of "colony" came into existence at all. But all our other bases around the world have (IMHO) a very limited value to the US, if any.
No, USA was sucked in by Free Nelson Mandela, Divest now
You mean the Terrorist who was personally responsible for civilian deaths...? That Mandela?
And his wife. She was a horror.

Hello Purkiss. I am a 72 year old German and first came to Namibia with my family in 1993. The story of why is a story all of its own, but would go far too far here.
Although I have been very interested in history since my youth, I knew nothing about the history of Africa's south. I don't think you'll be surprised to hear that we went there nine more times - we had to work hard to save the money - and traveled to NAM, SA, BW, Z, ZW on our own, but later without the children.
I only read everything I could get my hands on about the history of these countries after our first vacation. After an initial euphoria about the βliberationβ of these countries, whereby Botswana fortunately stands out positively because of the personal story of Seretse Khama and his wife, I was then, to this day, only horrified!
During my professional career I had to travel a lot and around 2005 I met a group of travelers from an evangelical church who had visited one of their sister churches in Zimbabwe. They brought money and donations in kind there once a year. I remember it was somewhere in Mashonaland West. The leader of the group simply did not want to believe me that there had been a functioning electricity supply in the area before 1980, which of course was not free of charge. Just sad!
My wife and I are incredibly grateful that we were able to see the wildlife there and the incredibly beautiful landscapes in our lifetime. We visited the landscapes twice, in the rainy season and in the dry season. The absolute highlight was the two visits to the Okavango Delta! DREAMING! SIGH!
Apologies to the community for off topic.

Yes, this is good information. News was pretty crappy back then. Nothing was ever said about all the white population did to improve the living standards for black folks.
Purkiss, rascism is always color blind. The blacks believe their lying leaders more than their eyes to read your post. You cannot fix stupid, and I fear the blacks in SA are fixing to go scortched Earth against the whites. Even if you live in a fortified compound with other white families, you will not be able to withstand the ferral dog antimosity the black leaders hold against your race. There is no good end to this situation, except for both sides to come together and work to make peace. But sometimes a ferral dog needs a stick hard up against the head to make it understand how it should act. God bless you, Purkiss. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Please stay safe.

And every time they weren't happy about something, they burned their schools and universities to the ground. Really smart.
And how much of what was built remains? Baragwanath Hospital was the best teaching hospital in Africa. And now?
Look at how the railway system has fallen into a heap in Johannesburg, or the failure to upgrade Eskom over the years to provide a constant electricity supply....
There is no hope for South Africa, or even Africa as a continent. There is a huge disconnect on so many levels with very little common ground.
They're ALWAYS burning THEIR infrastructure down, and then protesting about having NO Infrastructure....π€¦π»ββοΈπ€·π»ββοΈ
Is this because they are stupid OR do their leaders tell them to do it for their own nefarious reasons?
For the most part, they are Sheep....and Stupid
Some people prefer squalor for those they control. Mandela was one of them
Another example of always do the opposite of what the left is pushing.
Good list, as a South-African I approve. Now do one that goes into the real history of Nelson Mandela showcasing some of his career highlight, including but not limited to the bombing of shopping malls resulting in casualties.
ππ.... Always good to see another Awake fellow SAn.....
Bush, Clinton and Obama destroyed your country via CIA/Mossad. Sorry dude, the American people were never told this. All we are ever told is white man bad! We need our King to return and bring in a righteous government for the world. Our only hope.
Defenses don't help because the accusations of racism were an excuse not a reason. The reason is that the commies wanted SA, probably pushed by China.
wow!
