My wife posted a photo in a text message among my family of my daughter's newborn baby yawning. I thought it made him look like a Chinese baby, and said that as a comment. I then got "quit being racist" comments back from two of my daughters, so I searched on Google for a photo of a Chinese baby yawning, and it looked just like the grandbaby :) One daughter then said it was weird for me to be searching for a photo of a Chinese baby yawning, so I told her I did it to show that the baby LOOKS LIKE A CHINESE BABY YAWNING! Anybody else love their children, but don't really like them? :) On a more serious note, does anyone else sense that this generation under 40 has been programmed to be offended by everything that deviates from some narrow range of supposedly acceptable behavior, comments, etc. (but they have no problem with ridiculous tattoos and piercings)

The younger gens are definitely programmed to be easily offended by shit that doesn't matter while ignoring real issues.
This is the dagum truth.
We call them pussys in the industry...
And what industry might that be?????
Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing.
^^ best comment so far today
KEK … I’m just shy of 40 and would have thought it was hilarious if anyone in my family had said that. I was shunned by family in a similar situation a couple years ago, when my daughter told a joke at a baby shower, that her dad told her, about how Chinese people name their babies by dropping silverware on the floor.
LOL, now that is funny! (and probably a little bit racist, but actually true, when considering the English language :) ) I used "Cheng" as the name when I made the comment :)
that's terrible! get the joke right...by dropping pots and pans down a set of stairs :)
I know some very based young guys i work with. But it's in Oklahoma.
It seems like women are more prone to the social programming of MSM, perhaps due to the emotional appeal of leftism.
They have to be offended for everyone else, who are too stupid to know when they should actually be offended by something.
Not tasteful tattoos either— we’re talking, people with stupid doodles and words drawn all over their faces promoted as “new cool thing.” We used to mock this sort of behavior. It was reserved for gang members and felons and Mike Tyson. Yet another example of society going full retard.
Yes. "Politically Correct" is politically incorrect.
I'm a millennial but I'm not a liberal. My wife and I made a number of jokes about the looks of our first born. They're pretty interesting looking at birth especially when it's your first. Ours also had a really smushed nose from the position in the womb.
Anyway, yes, the millennial generation is annoyingly soft. I take pride in not being a pussy and love a good offensive joke, but most people my age are offended easily over trivial things.
That's the thing; I don't see how saying a random photo of a baby looking like a race they aren't is offensive! And I am sure anyone who looks at the photo, if asked what race they think the baby is, would say "Asian", or "Chinese". I have been worried about my daughter's political views being shaped by MSM, but I now realize it is a lot broader than that!
I grew up in the 80s and I loved the comics in the newspaper. B.C. was one of my favorites. Something they used to do often is when they saw something new or unusual they would turn their heads to the side and yell out the thing they just realized. There was no one there to hear it. It was absurd and that's what made it funny. They were shouting into the void.
I don't think the young folks of our world today are any more or any less offended by things that we were when we were young. I just think that we got over it real quick while they relish letting it linger. Then they post on social media hoping somebody will validate them being offended and them saying and doing the right thing while, in reality, they are just turning their head to the side and shouting into the void.
It's laughable and we, as the responsible adults, need to laugh at them.
We took a 30 year break from being offensive. I'm thinking we need to be more offensive. It's for their own good.
But I can't see how making a comment that a baby looks like a different race from what it really is, due to the way the baby looks in a particular photo, can be offensive to them. It's like anything that slightly veers from their world view is offensive. They truly are lemmings led by MSM.
“We aren’t supposed to say that”
Yes
Sounds like a you a problem, maybe its just where you live? Everyone I know my age (older Gen Z, early to mid 20s) is like, Ifunny brand edgy "racist" dark humor types. I can count on one hand the number of people I know who're "politically correct". And of them one's a literal faggot, another one recently died (he was over 500 pounds and has been since high school), and the other is basically a whipped cuck who got his first taste of being with a woman from some moronic california girl he met in his first year of college before dropping out to "work" for his doctor mother as medical administration. The last one is particularly moronic, as he used to be part of my inner friends circle, but now won't speak to any of us if he sees us in public out of fear that his "wife" would divorce him if she found out about his edgy past, so now he just makes rage posts about how horrible Trump is on facebook while bragging about how much he makes as a college drop out.
Suffice to say, most people in my age group, with the notable exception of the weak willed, feeble minded, faggoty, and sexually crippled, are NOT like what you describe.
Good to hear. I think it would be more women in the group, unless the men have been feminized :)
They are 30, 32, and 34. They were conservatives before going to college. (well, 2/3 were, the third, a more rebellious one, was already drifting left before college :) )
You have my sympathies. At least you've got another male in the family now.
Too bad he looks like a Chinese baby when yawning 🥱
I feel your pain - same with my “highly educated” daughter and son-in-law. I pray for them daily.
Just say they’re being retarded and to get over it. Maybe they need to learn what racism is instead of being offended over comparing likeness
One of the causes of having a victim mentality is never being bullied or given the ol belt when you effed up. You grow some thick skin and learn to buck up. Go work in any blue collar setting without a HR department and you'll quickly see what it is like to be a useful member of society instead of a fluorescent light drinking office drone.
Hey now, I'm 36. Don't lump me in with those wussies!
That's why I asked if everyone was :)
Depends on how they were raised. If you don't teach your child to look at things objectively and to question everything from any authority figure, then they'll likely believe the propaganda that is pumped into them 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week at public school. The youth's inability to critically reason for themselves is a symptom of a larger problem that began when the government took over the education system while our society compelled mothers to enter the workforce and hand their children off to be raised by the state.
Sorry to hear that, but we have been seeing pockets of those types of conversations from our acquaintance circle. We just ignore them and keep on keepin' on.
As for our child, she's a damn good noticer and has a very sharp sense of humor 👍
Lol me and my buddies are all under 40, but we rip the most racist jokes towards eachother and have been since we were kids. Mind you, our friend group consists of white, Hispanic, middle eastern, Asian, black, and the only TRUE, African American I know: a white jew whose parents are from South Africa. Now we're all guys, and the way we show love is by play fighting and talking smack, but that's just how we are and I wouldn't have it any other way. We've had each other's backs since we were kids. If one of us got into a fight... boy you bet we all got into a fight lol
What got me is that it certainly isn't racist to think a random photo of anyone, at any age, looks like a race different from what they are! It's funny to consider that it is actually racist of my daughter to think such a comment is racist. (and I grew up with two older brothers, so know what you are talking about when it comes to how guys related to each other :) )
Make fun of them for being “soooo offended 🤣”
Sounds like their upbringing has wrought it.
I doubt you have several adult children, or you wouldn't have made such a stupid statement.
Absolutely.
