Well, this company had a name, so we can agree that someone was offering it for sale, even if we can't recall the name. Bill Gates may have advocated it, but that is not the same thing as doing it.
So, where did the aluminum particles come from? No evidence, just a supposition. The people here have a kind of logic problem. "Well, I can think of only one way this can happen. But this happened. So it must have been the one way, because...I can think of no others." Yep. It's always the one you were ignorant of.
I don't endow Gates et al. with "good" motives, but I think there is a lot of "Master of the World" vanity involved, around the conceit that human action can transform the meteorological world. Lots of delusions of grandeur. And the further conceit that thinking up such stuff is every bit as good as actually making it happen. Gates has the money to spare, to lavish on flights of fancy, but notice how his projects are far different from Musk's. Lots of bragging, posturing, talking down, hobnobbing with the Klaus Schwabs of the world...and where is the payoff? Musk is all about payoff and getting things done. It is my clue that Gates is mainly a stuffed shirt. But his exploits in the world of vaccination are bogus and evil, and Africa has arrived at the correct estimation of his number.

And it all came to nothing. You need to stop reacting to intentions as though they were deeds. (Other articles on MIT Technology Review.) How they really do things is to talk a good show, get some money, not run far, get thrown down the memory hole, and...talk a good show etc. (rinse and repeat).

Alright, but the intent is there and documented, and I've watched first hand them filling the skies above my head with something that doesn't dissolve; it lingers for the whole day and no doubt lands on the ground. What do you think it is?
The point about “who are the actual, explicit companies doing this” is a good point. They’re going to have a technical term they call it by, that won’t be “chemtrails”. “Stratospheric Aerosol Injection”, maybe?
I did some quick searches. Found a few research program names, but no incorporated company publicly saying “it’s totally us doing this.”
Back when it first dropped that chemtrails were back on the menu here several months back (direct comment from cats, iirc), I think someone did find a few names. We should definitely have a list of explicit operators if so.

Intent is not a deed. And you have no basis for thinking that a major geo-engineering project is under way. People have been talking about and studying and designing solar power satellites for the past 50 years. Nothing has happened. It far easier to build nuclear power stations on the ground. A profusion of intent means absolutely nothing in the world of deeds. So, you can't make the illogical jump from intent to deed, when deeds require more than intent.
What you see are persistent contrails from commercial aircraft, consisting of ice crystals from frozen water vapor. In other words, high-altitude clouds. And they persist as long as high-altitude clouds. Eventually, they evaporate into the air, like high-altitude clouds. Completely unconnected from any geoengineering plot.
I live in the approach-departure corridor to a major international airport. I have seen these all the time for the past 40 years. They are a form of cloud. And if you are suspicious of clouds, I can guarantee you would not enjoy the Pacific Northwest.
