There was a guy on the Chans years ago who survived the Bosnia or Serbia situation, can't remember which. He did an AMA, very enlightening. He was asked if he could go back in time and buy something useful he said something very interesting.
He said he would have bought 1000 Bic lighters.
Useful, easy to trade, doesn't put a target on your head.
Was a book written about him? Did he live near an alcohol distillery and took heaps to barter with etc. Were their homes connected underground? I seem to remember now it’s coming back.
Something to remember is that, when neighbors and passersby are hungry... food cooking smells advertise that YOU have food and it makes you a target.
Avoid strong spices, garlic, ginger, onions, sweet or fragrant sauces. Smells linger and drift with the wind. Don't smoke meats unless you want attention. Be smart. If people are hungry, and there are shortages, do not be seen with food. Do prepare small packages of foods as trade items. A 16 ounce package of pasta or a 1 lb bag of rice has trade value. Small bags of sugar or coffee or flour or salt has value.
Rice - white. Or more correctly - rice, not brown. Brown rice has fats/oils that will go rancid quickly compared to white rices. You could keep it for 2-3 years with oxygen absorbers and mylar bags, but it isn't worth the risk. White rice(s) can last 25-30 years if packaged and sealed properly.
Around 10 years ago, National Graphic did a doco on a cyber attack on the grid. They had actually used footage from those that recorded their plight during an actual blackout that had lasted 3 days. I’m not sure what city that was affected. Possibly NYC? They then intertwined it with actors to show a variety of scenarios and what dangers you could be presented with. The problem was no one can predict what will happen. But one thing was very glaring- people expected that the police, firies, paramedics, politicians would come to save them. Even the military. Think about how anyone can help millions of people in a city. They can’t. The YT one has been taken down or split up into 5 minute adverts but I found it on Rumble.
Tinned tomatoes of any description. There is an issue with products to manufacture the steel looming. Frozen fruit. Lasts around 6 months and higher in vitamin C etc.than fresh fruit. Pasta. Rice. Honey. Olive oil. Coffee. Tinned fish. In addition- any canned vegetable or protein meal like chicken, tuna salmon etc.
It’s not just the shortage or out of stock foods. If things go belly up then it will not be safe to travel to your local supermarket. It’s best to remain at home. Watch what is happening in Europe.
We have been staying away from all these medications - except for allergy. Things like tylenol etc are actually pretty bad. This might help wean people off of these medications.
In the end, the entire Tariff play is to destroy the Chinese deep state and the cheap crap from China thats destroying everything in the world. Some thing are better without them in this world.
Olive oil, coffee, fish, chocolate, dairy products, imported fruit, grain products, especially wheat, specialty cooking oils (like avocado oil, sesame seed, walnut), frozen foods, canned foods (vegetables, meat, soups - because of difficulty obtaining material to make the cans)
Doing the Lord’s work here, thanks 🙏
Thank you for condensing that vid.

I recall his articles. Very good.
He also had a setup to refill them.
Right! I forgot that. He installed a valve from an air-soft gun, very clever.

Maybe, it was quite a long thread, maybe multiple threads, I don't remember.

I recognise a fellow Prepper. 😜 Stay safe!

What are the 10 items, so those of us that dont have the time to watch the video can know what its talking about?

Cool, thanks. Pretty much all the stuff we keep stocking up always. We will just double up on these just in case!
I was thinking medicines too. With issues between US and China - even generic pain killers etc are better than nothing.
