He's in favor of good cheap homegrown energy. Good, then why not dig for coal and burn it? Oh, it's not clean. What's more important, having Brits not freeze in the wintertime o keeping them mildly warm with solar? I'd vote for burning coal.and maybe have a slight coal dust problem.
nuclear power is the answer, but i think they shut those down. They are their own worst enemy.

Funny story, UK's largest power station DRAX, ran on coal but was converted to run on wood pellets. The pellets are imported by ship from USA where they are made from fine timber (100+ year old trees) which is shredded and then dried at great energy cost, then shipped at great energy cost, then burnt here.
This they call carbon neutral. Coal, being essentially 1000000+ year old trees, is not considered carbon neutral for some stupid reason.
The coal smoke could also help block out the sun...
Coal as a fuel is probably 95 times cleaner today than it was in 1900, 1950, 1960, or 1970, I'll bet.
Frozen, starving Brits is what they want.
