Right? Our gasoline prices just jumped $.15/gallon yesterday to $3.39. [NW Indiana]. Groceries still out of control despite the uni crowd mostly gone now. Ugh.
If prices are down, then someone needs to tell the grocery stores this news because prices have not lowered in my neck of the woods. Gas is under $3 a gallon but it's been fluctuating up & down some but staying under $3 where I live.
if the Fed chair lowers rates (when the demand for Treasuries has kept market rates fairly steady for 3 months https://ycharts.com/indicators/3_month_t_bill) then the cost of borrowing goes down for small businesses to borrow money and create products and jobs. Lower int. rates would provide help for the housing market, = enabling refinancing mortgages at lower rates, possibly preventing someor many foreclosures.
However, with high deficit spending still, how would the big institutions react? It takes a good int. rate to convince bondholders to continue financing the $36 trillion national debt. Could lowering rates trigger a bond market crisis?
Politics: Jerome Powell = appointed byPres. DJT. Optics. if Pres. asks the Fed chair to do thing when he knows the Fed chair is not ready to lower int. rates, this makes it look like the Fed is independent, so that if the Fed lowers rates later, Pres. Trump does not get any blame for any adverse affects on the economy.
We are still experiencing the Biden inflation on fiood, and I have not seen any decline in food prices except eggs. I'd love to see prices of Trump admin #1 back . food prices frozen where they were when Biden left oh boy...
The fed can donwhatnitbwants because the dollar is going to collapse wither way. Lower rates probably sppednit it up as inflation will increase even more.
Gas and groceries definitely not down

What he is saying is that interest rates are making everything more expensive! Once they are lowered the real prices will reflect.
It looks like the June prediction of a Recession was planned all along. But I think we may see some twists and turns till then.
"which is ready to blossom?" When do flowers blossom? After a storm? "Just let it all happen, it will be a beautiful thing!" Let the storm begin!?
