Bearden was never near the laser weapon business. The most powerful laser weapon we had was the YAL-1A airborne laser, but that was scrapped by the Obama administration. "Pumped phase-conjugate mirrors" is mumbo-jumbo.

How do I know all this? I was in the business, designing the orbital interceptor overlay for the SBI and working on airborne lasers throughout my career.
Btw - L3 Harris is also the company already contracted to do Security, etc upgrades on the new free incoming Air Force One

Honestly I can't stand them for the same reasons you just said you like them. But - I was Air Force so I am used to what they had. The AF dress uniform wasn't anything special, although the mess dress (tuxedo version) was nice. It looked military.
The Space Force uniform in that picture looks more like a bus driver or train conductor uniform. Also diagonal buttons don't belong on a military uniform. When you look at the pictures on the page where 2 or 3 guardians are standing beside each other, the diagonals are all different depending on the person's beer belly. I can't imagine how bad a whole formation of guardians of different sizes and ranks will look because of those diagonal button things.
No offense to you J1D. I'm glad you like them. I just know if I was still in the military when the Space Force was formed I would be wearing one of those goofy things. I was stationed at NORAD for a while and was in a space unit that went to USSF.
Good stuff. Very promising. Reagan had a start on it with the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), but the subsequent administrations put it in the freezer because it would upset the Mutual Assured Destruction paradigm. The SDI was based on a layered defense, which derived from the High Frontier study (and also from carrier battle group defense architecture). The big enabler, known in the 80s but not mentioned here, is the huge decrease in launch costs attained by SpaceX. That had been a financial backbreaker, but not now.

when I was a kid we would play war-games.. heck even war thumbs. Before the war was to commence we would have a declaration of war.
when I see much of this going on. this is what I see. it is inevitable a war is coming to the USA. The only way is the military.
when this war starts it is important for a huge majority of the citizens to be aligned.
