Something is niggling me too watching the parade… uniforms seem v non uniform IYKWIM? Not marching in time , soldiers seem on edge and uncoordinated in turning head etc ? Have seen military parades of US forces look a lot sharper and I’m wondering if some of these are central casting while actual guys are off doing other things ? Could it be a big distraction???

The historic units were walking instead of marching. The current troops were better; more natural to be marching. A function of somebody calling cadence. I have noticed that all the new vehicles off the line are all green, no tan. Army green theme maybe, but likely because we don’t plan on going back to the desert anytime soon.
Nice observation/deduction.
Yes and the President actually swore in some new recruits. Looked great, hope you Americans had a proud and great day.
Best wishes from Ireland.
I think this is a testament to how our Army has fallen a bit in discipline and esprit-de-corps due to the Biden woke years. I to noticed so many out of step and just basically walking. Wasn’t like that in my day. We kept time in out head and marching was second nature. I doubt they kept up with any of that during woke years concentrating more on pronouns and woke crap. But it does my heart good seeing the real soldiers in the mix taking pride in their unit and soldering!
Tbh I noticed similar at the trooping the colours in the last couple of years since Charles took the throne.. not nearly as sharp as previously
I was in a parade with my unit once. The drum beat was fine but pretty far up front and out Sargent would call cadence for a few minutes and then quit. His cadence and the drum beat were different beats and it would throw us off. Then when he quit we would pick up the cadence again from the drumbeat. So every couple minutes we were off and it took a few beats to get everyone back. We could hear comments from the crowd. It was embarrassing but waddya gonna do?
Thanks fren.. not getting at the guys cos it must be difficult to keep time with so many people over a long route.
I had the same feeling. I remember what they would drill us like even in JROTC
Yeah my son is in cadets and he is watching and just commented that he’d get ripped by CO if his dress was like that on divisions/ uniform check
Some guys look like their boots are way too big and the toes are flapping as they are walking
The ROTC team sure was marching better than the others
They wore dated uniforms - could they possibly have had to make due with what was available?
You are right! Prior service here. I am waiting for a Black Sabbath rendition of “War Pig” at this point!
I noticed those things too. Comparing it to days gone past, I also thought about all of the other countries. Sharper indeed. To me they look like the rest of our country our new standard.
See new post from Joys1. 10th mtn on the move!
I'm niggling here too. They, or a majority of them, look like they've never been on a grinder. I'd safely say they are not trained, and Central Casting ran out of extras... There's something else afoot here. Somebody mentioned the 10th Mountain Division is on the move.
Maybe all the experienced guys are arresting everyone at the evil soros wedding???
That’s what I’m hoping and praying for
Gomer Pyle marched better. I saw a number of uniform violations. Saw one guy with sleeves longer than his arms - covered his hands.
I don't have regular TV. Right now I wish I had the parade beinf shown with someone knowledgeable commenting about everything, like the good old days of The Rose Parade and Bob Eubanks!!
In AFROTC, we did The 54 Commands marching drill to perfection. Had to be perfect before field training. I was a bit surprised what I watched today.
I saw logos for UFC and Palantir. Are they corporate sponsors?
Not a military man,but they look fine to me.
They look good but the marching/movement looked not as sharp as I’ve seen other times and it just got my noggin joggin
Its a big parade, they have a lot of regular troops that don't train for this,is my guess.
They had plenty of time to practice. This has been planned for a long time.
True, but they need to do military training.
