Oh joy, another congressional hearing that will be filled with a whole lot of "I don't recall", "plead the 5th" and outright lies. And no consequences.
Congress has no prosecutorial powers. They can recommend charges to the executive branch which Tulsi already did. Any circus in front of congress at this point would serve only to muddy the waters and taint the jury. Also disband the DC federal court. If you're charged with a crime in DC you stand trial in your home state/district. There's a reason no democrat is ever prosecuted in DC and that's because you can't get a conviction. As far as I'm concerned that means you don't have a functioning court.
Congressional hearing? No. Just no. Civilian court. Article 3 Section 3. But how would they ever find an impartial jury? That would be a feat in itself.
Well until about 3 minutes ago I thought treason was charged in civilian court but as it were, upon more searching, it can be tried in military court if it was committed while in service and I assume this would be considered "in service" as Commander in Chief when this happened. Long way of me saying yes, I agree.
If I were POTUS for a day, I'd appeal to the MAGA base and direct them to demand that Congress stop with proceeding like this, in which ZERO impact will be made other than some there will have juicy soundbites to use for their re-election campaign.
DNI Gabbard has already referred this to DOJ for criminal investigation. Anything else is pure politicking. So gross.
Why not charge Obama instead. A hearing, real or fake would be a waste of time, nothing will be done to Obama once the hearing is finished. Use real teeth, not false ones of the congress.
