He's a blatantly partisan moron for acting like reclassifying cannabis from one category of controlled drug to a less extreme category of controlled drug somehow endangers kids in public spaces.
It's completely disingenuous and that nonsense is really aggravating. He's acting like Trump is going to make it legal to smoke reefer on the street in front of a kindergarten and any intellectually honest person would know that's just not what's happening.
The government gives kids Ritalin in schools....
Yep... how many kids (especially from the 80s & 90s) were diagnosed with ADHD and placed on Ritalin? Some as young as 5 and they've been on the med their whole lives. Parents were too stupid back then before internet to understand the medical scam and just hand over their children's fate to the doctors. Now with internet, there are still plenty of stupid parents but thank God, more have woken up everyday and realized how F up the system is.
The liberals you see today in their 30s, 40s, 50s ARE mostly the products of those drugs!
No, the schools don't do that, the parents and pediatricians do. The school system today can't even ice a kid's joint without parent permission, and here in FL, if a kid requires meds to be taken during school hours, the parent has to administer it themselves unless their Pediatrician has agreed the child can take it themselves AND the parent has sent in an official letter saying they can.
The schools talk to doctors and do a parent-teacher conference (sometimes with the doctor phoned in) to pressure the parents. They also involve the principal and/or the school nurse. It's been that way since the '70s. If the parents won't budge the kid either goes into special-ed or they are over-disciplined until the parents relent. The kid is labeled for the rest of their schooling, regardless.
You spelled meth wrong.
When you listen to Charlie Kirk more and more you realize he has a one track mind. There is no room for nuance.
I've never listened to Charlie Kirk. I only listen to And We Know and X22, President Trump and GAW.
That's what you get with a classic Reaganite or Bushite Republican.
The best way to beat Charlie Kirk is to use scripture to change his mind.
The bible says that God gave use every green plant and herb that bears seeds as food and medicine.
You couldn't possibly smoke enough weed to kill you unlike alcohol and most of the drugs on schedule 1. I'm against teens being able to smoke marijuana, but adults should be able to do whatever they want within reason. The insane war on drugs is far more dangerous and life destroying than weed.
I've seen exactly what you've described. And seen edible wrappers commonly left as trash outside elementary schools. SoCal, suburb in San Fernando Valley. I really doubt it was the kids using them, but I didn't like it.
Granted I have no idea whether classifying it as class 2 or class 3 would change any of that. I'm generally in the deregulate camp, but the legalization has definitely contributed to urban blight. I'm for local regulation by states and municipalities.
Any background on what the class 2 to class 3 change would really do?
criminal charges and sentencing guidelines - as a lvl 1 it is oNe Of ThE wOrSt and deserves highest charge and sentence.
Funny you say that. I read that tweet the other day. I decided to read through his previous tweets to see if I would miss anything if I unfollowed him. After several minutes of reading, I unfollowed him. And I am not that hardcore on the subject.
You must not get out much OP! Parents smoke weed all the time, wherever they want. It's usually right before they bring their kids into school. So both the kid and them smell terrible!s
So yeah...parents do chief right in school parking lots
It’s reefer madness I tell ya! Charlie needs to pack a bowl chill. And maybe see his pediatric dentist.
I'd be happy if they scheduled it as a 5, or even a 4. That way I could get a prescription for it to help with my back and neck pain, and wouldn't be failed on a drug test and thus prohibited from working in most good jobs. I have real pain - not the "gimme drugs" kind of pain. I can't touch weed and expect to get another good job that requires a background investigation, another clearance, or drug testing.
I have a crooked, degenerating lumbar vertebrae, and a failed C5-7 neck fusion where one of the titanium screws is broken in half inside my C-7 vertebrae which is dangerously close to pushing through and hitting my spinal cord. Three of the other screws (6 total) are starting to work their way out of the vertebrae.
I actually finally have a neuro appt Tuesday for them to tell me my fusion needs redone and expanded to include C-4 (also now degenerating), they need to figure out how to get the broken screw out of C-7, and I need lumbar surgery as well. Never mind I already have the x-rays from my VA disability appointments and am providing the DICOM CD to them. Seems idiotic. At least they will do an MRI, but of course not tomorrow since they have to see if I am actually injured. SMH.
Medical weed would massively help with the pain, with zero possibility of opioid addiction - but what do I know?
I think they should take my suggestion and do USA-wide medical marijuana for a year or two (while prohibiting businesses from discriminating against employees with real prescriptions), and at the same time they should find a way to make a test like the alcohol DUI blow thingy they use to measure BAC. Once they have a safe, repeatable, and standardized method of testing with standard numbers showing impairment, they should open it up for recreational use and treat it like alcohol.
Spoiler - Big Pharma owns most members of CONgress. They don't want to lose their monopoly on drugs. Members of CONgress won't pass a law legalizing weed, and thus biting the hand that feeds them. Especially if a law is passed prohibiting them from trading stocks (and using their insider info of course).
but marijuana can't be patented? how will pharma make money?
If Big Pharma wants to use marijuana in medicines (not just synthetics, THC, or CBD) they are free to do so - but currently only with a certain strain. FDA will have to be required to do their "studies and research" and knock off the stupid stuff about not knowing the safety of the plant, or the "effective dose". Hire a dozen tokers, give them doritos, and let them smoke. Then more strains can be opened up for pharmaceutical use.
The patents don't matter because it is similar to not being able to patent drinking water in a liquid medicine. The patent is for the complete formula (most of the time) - not for individual ingredients. A pill could have MJ in it but it would have other ingredients designed to speed up or slow down absorption, maybe they find a way to localize the effect (headaches for example), or they make the effects stronger or weaker. It could also have other drugs like Lipitor, or some cancer drug - you get the picture. The whole pill is patented - not the individual ingredient unless it is synthesized.
They will certainly find a way to make money on MJ, and will try to make consumers believe it is better than just smoking/vaping the plant.
Here's an interesting story on what Big Pharma does with patents. Provigil (brand name of modafinil) is used for narcolepsy, excessive daytime sleepiness, and for pilots to stay awake on long missions up to 40 hours. I have also taken it for decades now. When it came time for the patent to expire (after a couple of extensions) the drug maker changed a couple of things in the chemical makeup and called it Nuvigil. Same stuff, does the same thing, and the drugs are interchangeable. Nuvigil has a different dose because of the change, and can in some cases last longer. I alternate every 2 years or so myself. The changes allowed the company to continue making big money on the brand while generics came out for Provigil. Note - the original cost for Provigil was between $1800 and $3000 for a 90 day supply. Big Pharma are bastards.
Both are generic now - modafinil and armodafinil.
Well, from what I've seen here in FL since marijuana became medically legal, it dep nda on where you're at, whether you'll see people toking at or near a school, church, hospital, etc. If you're in a more wealthy neighborhood, you don't see that as often as you find in a ghetto or lower middle-class area, so he kind of does have a point. However, he's trying to be a classic Reaganite, so I'm not surprised he's taken this stance. I don't know one Reaganite or Bushite Republican that wants to see weed moved off the current Schedule.
I worked in legal cannabis for years, smoking daily. I smoke at home, after work, like a normal fucking person.
Just because it's legal doesn't mean you need to smoke in public.
You don't drink at a public school, why would you smoke there? It's absurd.
Nanshy would
yeah, Charlie needs to stick with white priviledge, abortion, and transgenderism
