An early Anon... we should honor her with some sort of name suitable for her work, etc. OGAnon? ArchiveAnon? VCR Anon? Idk. Something like that. What do you say?
Back in the late '80s, when I was in the Air Force, the dorm-roommate of one of my buddies had about 6 or 7 VCRs constantly going. He had a change of station coming up, and was headed for the Philippines I believe, and wanted to take a shitload of US TV with him.
He was pretty strange, or so I thought at the time, but was a nice guy.
A month or two ago I picked a random spot in the archive which ended up being sometime in 1985. What a blast from the past. All of the local news bits are from the Boston area since she lived somewhere around there. I didn't have the patience to watch much though. I'm sure there's some nuggets of gold buried in that video.
Now the individual apps, you use, can control your DVR and you/we have no say in what we keep or what they erase from history. Another reason all this technology isn't great. Although TV itself is worth avoiding.
👍. I wish I could be that disciplined. I like older westerns where the good guys always win. The story lines aren't intricate and the plot can be seen from many miles away.
As a fellow data hoarder and archivist, I salute you.
Smart woman
Librarians are Archivists...✨ God bless her!
Amen.
I want to see if she has the Mandela funeral recorded before he ran for president...
She doubtlessly has Fruit of the Loom commercials with the cornucopia.
How does that work, when someone alters the timeline that we all remember? Does it change the past so that what we remember never happened?
Yes, please.

I love this Tribute! I vote Archive Anon! 🏆🌟

Thanks for jogging my memory DRan!

Just think of it this way, we are all certifiably insane in some ways but God loves us individually anyway. LOL
She seems to be the the precursor to the NSA!
Yes, she is.
Can I get a copy of the 1st decade of original MTv please?
You know, the one at the beginning, that had actual 24/7 music videos, instead of non-music crap?
That would be awesome. I'd like to have. Also all the old CMT.
You go search it yourself.
Former librarian... How could she afford all those tapes?
Good question.
NASA should have hired her.....
maybe they did (;
70,000 vhs tapes and time enough to keep 8 VCR's going? tape swapping? she had to have help. Just spitballin'
Yes.
Maybe I can finally get that episode of transgender gangsters that appeared on Geraldo in ‘92.
kek wut
LOL
Wow very well done.
She is the beginning of the wayback machine
Another American Hero! Most people will have no idea of how important this is!!
She is eccentric but it's good.

I don't have time.
She was also a Communist.
I'm dead serious.
She can't be a communist and still married to her wealthy 2nd husband. Think about it. She was confused at best.

I only watch certain shows and know that they are a movie with actors and actresses and nothing more.

I am not that disciplined either.
Yay! I can now watch my favorite episodes of Night Court, T.J. Hooker, Pee Wee's Playhouse!
LOL
