I don't know what the potential shooter's issue was in this particular case. However, a lot of these "school shootings" are the result of bullying.
Schools do not take bullying seriously. They seem to think that the victim of the bullying needs to "be understanding" and realize that the bullies are acting out of immaturity. That's all fine and good for some school administrator to say when he or she isn't the one being assaulted or emotionally abused on a daily basis.
I speak from experience. My daughter was severely bullied in grammar school. The principal told me that "popular kids get to do whatever they want". When I suggested it was his job to stop them, he looked at me as if I what I had said was something outrageous. Then he responded, "She is smarter than they are and someday they will be working for her. What is she worried about?" AS IF -- some mythical day in the far off future would compensate for being tripped or hit on a daily basis.
I do not believe that " school shooters" solve their problems in the correct manner. But I can understand why they might feel driven to it if they have the lack of support my daughter had when she was a child.
You might be wondering what was "wrong" with my daughter that she was the target for bullying. The answer is simple. Our family was "different". Our son was autistic.
If the public wants to stop "school shootings" then I strongly suggest some measures be put in place to help children who are bullied. Perhaps an independent agency that parents can report ineffective principals to -- and also report bullies so that an investigation and appropriate steps can be taken to stop the bullies from continuing their destructive patterns of behavior.
I don't think it's bullying. It's MKULTRA. These shooters are all in therapy. It's programming. It will become known this killer had a therapist- they all do.
I'm not sure how old you are but Harris and Klebold (Columbine Shooters) left written documentation regarding their desire to get back at the people who had been bullying them. Who knows how many others don't bother to sit down and leave a journal giving their reasons for doing what they did?
I'm not saying that some of it might not be MK Ultra but there are a lot of kids being persecuted daily by their peers. Apply Occam's razor when things like this happen.

Threats of illegal violence are not protected speech. It’s high time we start taking these threats seriously and prosecuting those who make them online. Criticisms and insults are one thing. Threats of illegal violence are another.
