The problem is God has a problem with the mushrooms. If it alters your judgement it’s to be avoided. Mushrooms are a lot of fun though and almost impossible to od on.
The Bible does not explicitly mention modern recreational drugs. However, it warns against intoxication, addiction, and sorcery. Many interpreters apply these warnings to drug use for non-medical purposes. While drug use is not explicitly named as a sin, it is widely considered one based on biblical principles. So it appears He does.🤔
I would say it's a fundamental fallacy to consider something like seeking greater mental clarity and spiritual attunement through psychedelic use equivalent simply drowning your sorrows with drugs that simply numb your pain away like alcohol or opiates.
While I agree with you that using unhealthy substances is advised against from a Biblical perspective, it's important to understand nuance and keep in mind that not all substances, and not all reasons for using substances, are equal.
If God really does exist, I believe it would be a God that understands that nuance.
It can definitely be very difficult to appreciate exactly what a psychedelic experience is if you've only been told what it is by others and never experienced it for yourself.
It's like trying to imagine someone else's lucid dreams, or someone else's near-death experience. Some things can only be experienced for yourself to truly be understood.
About 20 years ago a friend convinced me to try something called Salvia. It was definitely a psychedelic experience, and even though it only lasted about 5 minutes it gave me some deep insights to a few things for a day. I can't recall what that was, but i do recall the experience being very cliched... going through a bright tie-died rainbow tunnel with a little garden gnome urging me to keep going. Afterward i was amazed that had just happened, and for about a day afterward i felt at peace. So i can totally see why it might help, even though Salvia isn't really psychadelics. I haven't done it since though, and i probably won't again. Reality is already fun enough now, especially having faith and the tools to stay sane.
That was a lifetime ago to me, and i thought i'd try it to see if i could find an edge on the front lines of the early great awakening. But now, i'm perfectly comfy in the drivers seat, having found the power of faith, and the need to have a focused mind on the front lines of this spiritual fight. I don't want to risk that balance by going out to experiment. But if things get bad down the road, as they often do as we approach death, i'm not closed to the possiblity.
Also, I do not view psychedelics as a replacement for God, or faith. If anything, the naturally occurring psychedelics were gifts given to humanity by God.
I have a close family member retired from special forces with some PTSD issues. There is a support group for such people that use psychedelics in a controlled situation with counseling he has found to be extremely helpful and insightful. More research in this area is needed to help these people.
I used to be big into psychedelic use. While yes there are benefits for mental health, it DEFINITELY puts you into contact with demons and attracts them to you. Jesus said still waters (a mind that isn't grounded) is where demons reside and are drawn to like a sweet aroma.
These things can definitely thin the veil, but I would recommend having a good relationship with God and Jesus before opening yourself to this because of the possible negative outcomes that could happen. When entering this world, do it only with the armor of God. I luckily was protected when I was young and stupid and did these for fun.
They'll definitely change your life. If done correctly, they'll change you for the good. If abused, like all things, they will change you for the worst, and it'll be a very quick change.
I'm all for reclassifying them on the schedule. But I think their use needs to be closely regulated to help prevent abuse. People need to realize that while psychedelics do help with repairing trauma in the brain, they're not a cure all. You still need to do the hard work within yourself to gain any real benefits from their use. And some are so powerful, like Ayahuasca and Ibogaine, that they need to be administered in a very controlled setting and shouldn't be available OTC for just anyone, like what we've seen with medicinal marijuana.
Honestly I think anyone over 21 should be able to access them from "Smart Shop" style dispensaries. You must be over 21. You must present ID. In order for them to sell to you, you must register as a member with them and read certain mandatory safety information to educate you about anything you get before you are allowed to get anything. Membership is only to verify that you've read the mandatory educational safety disclosures so you don't have to jump through hoops every time.
If you go through all that red tape, and are educated about all the possible risks and adverse effects, and you still fuck up, well that's just on you at this point.
I don't think the deep state is very concerned about RFKs stance on psychedelics. They have been pushing them hard for years now. If anything, this is one thing they like about him.
Go watch Episode 2 of "How to Change Your Mind" by Micheal Pollan. It goes deep into psylocibin therapy and the benefits/relief it brings for PTSD, depression, etc.
Drugs/syko active substances CAN expand your consciousness... to a certain degree.
But the TRUTH is, that it's a kludge. A "forced" and "mechanical" means of expanding your consciousness that comes at a price.
You are partially eclipsed/held back/limited with ANY substance vs just being in a calm natural state with clear intent.
This is why I get irked with people who think things like "virtual reality" are just "so amazing!" - when the actual truth is, you're ALREADY IN VR but you're too thick/numb/scatterbrained to be conscious of it.
Psychedelics can offer you a different perspective, but they put you "out of phase" with your natural state & therefore are NOT capable of offering you a COMPLETE experience with full consciousness, when you practice with clear intentions and discipline.
Once again this credo holds true: There's no free lunch. And... Everything in life has a price.
In terms of being legal... I'm on the fence because there are plenty too stupid to use them with reverence and they'll hurt their brains more than help them. Nut jobs don't need any more help being nut jobs.
They definitely helped me develop into a more conscious being.
However, it took me a long time to realize that psychedelics are not “party drugs.”
If they become legalized, people should have to take some sort of short class before using them. They are incredibly powerful and life-changing.
Like they do for alcohol? /s
If you don't believe in God you haven't had enough mushrooms.
The problem is God has a problem with the mushrooms. If it alters your judgement it’s to be avoided. Mushrooms are a lot of fun though and almost impossible to od on.
God made the mushrooms. I doubt he has a problem with them.

I haven't tried them, but I've heard they can help.
I found faith in God, learning and using cognitive behavioral therapy therapy, and focusing on what i like (logic) did the trick for me.
But whatever gets people centered is good.
That's what i heard too, and i agree.

Man you only tried one and you tried the shittiest one. I feel sorry for you. The serotonergenic ones are MUCH different.
lol!

We don’t know what any of these things were like Pre-Fall though.

The downvoters display their ignorance. Not necessarily in contact but can leave you vulnerable to their influence.

These are a crutch.
Have a constitution and figure it out without these drugs.
JMHO.

Psychedelics do not give you any 'new' information. They can only help you re-evaluate things you have already experienced.
