I gotta share my good news with someone, so for anybody that has a moment: I have wonderful grandchildren that I love to spend time with. Unfortunately, they have recently moved too far away for regular visits. We try to travel across the United States once a year to go and visit them, but the drive takes longer than we can spare work-wise, and flights are outrageous, but the only way we can really go and see them, so last years flights went well, and I had planned to do the same this year ... well ... every dollar saved, something would break and we would have to spend the money to fix something else. Long story short, we were afraid we would just have to cancel our plans to go this year. My daughter called me up (I never told her of the struggles we wer having trying to save enough for our flights, she had no idea) and asked if they could come to us this year instead because they were in the process of getting moved into their new house and would rather we just spend this time relaxing and enjoying the kids. Problem solved, God heard my prayers! He's sending them to us this year! He always makes a way where I don't see a way! Just thought I'd share! Y'all have a great day!

Great news!! Enjoy the time with family whenever that might be. I'm father to a teen son and every day I hope and pray that when he grows up, he doesn't move too far away. Love spending time with him and look forward to adult time with him and time with his kids. I've heard one of the greatest joys in life is grandparenting. I had great grandparents. Parenting is wonderful, grandparenting doubly so (I've been told)
Yes. You are absolutely right. There is just something about being a grandparent. I don't know exactly how to define it, but it's like getting your kids back again for just a little bit, but this time it's less scary/stressful??? I had an awesome time raising my two children, and they have both rewarded my efforts with the blessing of hilarious and wonderful grandchildren. I don't think there is a better antidepressant on earth than the sound of your grandchildren's giggles and mispronounced words!

And yea, I would think grandkids have extra special meaning. Raising kids of our own, we have the stress of making a living, time away at work, bills to pay, the rat race, etc. Distractions in the way of enjoying them 100%. With grandkids, however, there could potentially be less stress than the daily grind and every moment can be cherished on a different level.

I'm celebrating the whole year of countdown to it. My Turning Point pocket Constitutions (3 of them) have been a part of my decor since 4th of July. One is on my entry hallway table, and the other two are on my dining room table near where I keep the Bible my Mom gave me. I intend to keep them out until July 4, 2026 (at least).

This is a post on Godlike. It was well written and I'm sharing it here: AS satisfying as this feels after being marginalized, deplatformed, threatened with being fired for the past several years, I think this is a mistake. I don't think we want America to be a place where people bite their tongue for fear of what others will do to them. That's inquisition type thinking.
I suspect the shoe being on the other foot for a change might have some beneficial use if it can be used to put real protections back in place, such as Smith-Mundt and some teeth for Section 230 enforcement. This might spur enough bi-partisan support to let people do and think and largely say what they want, without fear of reprisals over just speaking their mind.
There is no such thing as "Hate Speech". Only speeches you hate hearing. Everything else is covered by libel, slander and contract law (terms of use etc). Yes, an employer has a right to get upset how you conduct yourself wearing company logos, or using company equipment, or on company time. But should have little or zero say about what you say to your friends over a beer.
I get it... after the years of abuse, ridicule, and gaslighting it's MORE than satisfying to see the worm turn. Well, satisfying though it may be, we all know it isn't right and that we didn't like it when we were on the receiving end. Can anyone tell me what’s going on with annual exams at your doctors offices? They are double billing and charging you for an annual exam and an office visit at the same time for one appointment. They’re doubling their reimbursement rates for the exact same visit. I know this is legal, but I don’t understand how this is ethical. I didn’t even bring up any new medical conditions. How are they getting away with this?
Not sure. But agree they are pushing these exams HARD. Probably to offset their losses from more and more people refusing vaxxxes.
I took my son in for a sports physical recently, which is required by schools so he can play a sport. The pediatric office was pushing the "annual checkup" hard. I said no, we just want the sports physical, and they kept guilt-tripping me into the annual exam. I'm guessing this is solid $ for them and reinforces the "subscription-based" service for them to get $ out of us yearly, even when there's nothing wrong with us.
