Also, Paul makes it clear in Romans 11 that Israel still has a future in God’s plan.
So it’s not “Christ vs. the Jews,” it’s Christ vs. unbelief - whether Jew or Gentile.

My quote was taken directly from a dialogue Jesus was having with a group of Jewish religious leaders when they wanted to stone him. This conversation is from John chapter 8. Jesus did not raise Lazarus until chapter 11. So the Jews were NOT YET persecuting Christians at this point in the book of John.
