No ability to self reflect, to ask existential questions of who am I, what is my purpose, what is the meaning of Life? No ability to connect with their spiritual essence.
You might say it is not the schools job to "teach" these concepts but if true science, legitimate teaching of the mystery of how humans originated on this planet ( and not the Darwin bullshit lies) true history, economics, husbandry, math and literature is properly taught these questions would naturally arise, imho, and children would be blessed with a true amazement of the wonder of a human life.
As homeschoolers, everything is school. Building a garage, fixing electrical problems, fixing the toilet, installing a bathroom in the new garage, setting up a security system...
It breaks my heart when I see homeschoolers not knowing anything but curriculum, which is just public school re-created at home. It's about learning how to learn, not learning everything you can shove into your head. Learn how to learn, and you will never stop learning. Also... that way if I didn't shove enough into their heads, they at least know how to learn to compensate for it!!!
I’m sure I talked to my daughter about this and it took a long time, but I was so happy when my daughter, a sophomore in college, said “I’m learning how to learn”.
A lot of self education and thank God not a slave.
Life in rural America is very different.
Most kids have real life skills and finance classes are mandatory at the local school district.
Most kids have almost all of the skills listed, if not all of them.
I love seeing what the 4H kids are into at the state fair.
Animal husbandry, food production, autopsies on squirrels to determine cause of death; all sorts of great stuff
What’s 4H?

Thanks fren.
The local county fair was great this year.
Tons of kids involved in showing animals and showing produce they grew.
That's not a typical government school
It is in this state.
That's awesome👍🏻
This is unfortunately true...

I would add:

This is why parents must stay directly involved in their children's lives and quit using technology as a babysitter.
