What do you do to keep your children safe and in good spirits right before something really scary is about to happen? you as a father make jokes to lighten the mood because you know what is going to happen. Trump is posting extremely humorous content now to communicate that WE are in control because what is about to happen is going to scare democrats to the core and even republicans who have not been following Q and Trump closely. Do not be scared. We have been preparing for years for this moment.

I think it's gonna be better than most people think.
So far they have done a really good job into baiting Antifa to attack mostly federal facilities, which are the most heavily guarded and well equipped to soak up damage. Better than small businesses and regular people taking those hits, right?
They can thin out the antifa numbers over the course of a few weeks or a couple months with constantly baiting them into attacking.
Then they come out with the big stuff a lot of the shock troops are already off the street.
They're playing this really fucking well. I really have to applaud them.

For me as a Dad, I have been speaking frankly with (not to) my children from age 10 and onward. Age appropriate, of course, but I established the pattern of "Dad is serious, now, and we all benefit from discussing things together.". Above all, I let them know that I am not scared, and that they now know more than most people, so they can watch things unfold and step out of the way of harm if they were unable to avoid it in the the first place.
It has worked pretty well. They are based, and aware of their surroundings.
And, because we sized things up as things evolved, they are comfortable and able to focus on what they love.
I don't offer that as any sage advice. It's just how I handled things. Above all, I wanted them to see me role modeling critical thinking, independence, innovation, and fearlessness. If you're a parent with the concern the OP mentioned, I recommend deciding which values you want to espouse, and then expect that your children are very capable of rising to the level you need them to be. They will appreciate your trust in them, and they will follow your lead.

Any time something was going to happen, we talked about it even from young ages. We talked about what will likely happen, when and most importantly what we discussed the things we need to do to prepare.
Even kids 5-7 years old can cope better if they are given a job, or things that THEY can do to help. It has to be within their abilities, but then let them be creative. Don't micro-manage.
For the coming events: There might be times when we will need to stay home from school for a few days. Bring your books home, or stay up on assignments so you'll be ready if there is a few days off school.
In the next month or two, there might be times when the internet isn't available on your computers, or cell phone networks stop allowing normal phone calls. Don't worry about it. If cell phones aren't working, most often you can still send text messages, but with NO photos or emojis. Cell phone networks handle text only messages differently, and even during outages you can still text your friends. If internet goes down, it will be back on soon. Meanwhile, make sure you have things arranged that you can do.
You might see a lot of helicopters flying over, or more police cars than usual. Don't worry about it. They are just keeping you safe. There are bad guys that they are arresting, so none of them will ever bother you. We're safe at home and in our own neighborhood. Just enjoy watching the helicopters. One day you will remember this time.
What you need to teach the kids depends heavily on where you live.

I believe the scariest parts have already been done behind closed doors. Most normal people will not pay close attention, as they have not paid attention in decades. Spot on. The best way to neutralize impending doom events (bad opps) is to have a good laugh at the absurdity of what we are watching. Free will allows us that choice. The result? It increases the frequency of the planet. The combined wattage bumps up the frequency to... the laugh level. "They won't be able to walk down the streets" -level of gut-wrenching laughing.
We can all grin in comfort because there are just too damn many of us. It is so simple. All we ever had to do was just have human beings on the planet finally agree on something and unite with paradigm-shifting energy amassed, focused and fueled with intent. It is overwhelming and can not be stopped.
And for the record... laughing is non-violent. It comes with beer and wine or coffee and tea.
The trick that has been played on humanity is that we have been using this amassed energy all along... wrongly. We fought each other. Disagreements baked into the formula. The result (indeed the endgame) was to keep the planet's frequency in the lowest vibrational ranges possible. You could call it "swamp music" because the "tone" was contaminated by hate, greed, pyschosis, anger... you get the point. We self-induced this into the very vibratory field we all live in and are connected to. IT WAS A TRICK!
