Price was his birth name. Record companies had rights to his name for a few more years. They were dicking him around big time.
Price was doing everything on his albums also. He would come in lay down a 17 minute drum track without a click. Would then pick up his bass, guitar, and sing along in time with that track. The track was then edited down into a song.
He was doing MOST of the work, yet not making $$$$. Since it was his name that was restricted; he changed it. He still wanted to be know as Prince and change it back after the record contract was up.
Prince was a righteous brother.

That info about Killery's passport being flagged as of 12:01 on that day, is the answer to my having asked a ridiculous number of times if she even still was allowed to have a passport. Oh boy, that's going to be quite a day, and the satisfaction very real after years and years of waiting for her free-ride to be over.
