Back in the 80’s and 90’s I worked in the rental car industry. I witnessed so many criminal activities regarding what people use rental cars to do. When I saw the number of elderly people at the No Kings rally, it took me back to a crazy memory. Two sweet little old ladies rented a car and they told us they were heading to Kansas to look at property they were considering buying. We chatted with them for a while and thought they were so sweet. A few days later, I received a call from the FBI telling me that our car was in Canada and being used for a major drug smuggling operation. They were working with the Canadian agents who were keeping the car under 24 hour surveillance. The plan was to wait until they crossed the border and our FBI was going to arrest them. It turns out the drug smuggling operation had been under the radar for a while and it was a very large operation. I was shocked to discover that it was those 2 little old ladies that we all thought were so sweet. The FBI agent told me that I would be surprised at how often this happens. The elderly people need the money so they take these jobs. The drug smugglers like to use elderly people to do their dirty work because they are not suspicious looking. This happened in the 90’s and this type of stuff has been going on a long time.

Clint Eastwood's The Mule really does a good job showing this
was just gonna say this too...actually, i enjoyed the movie, and Eastwood was perfect in his role, as always...i liked the ending also...
I saw the movie not long ago, thought it was good, and now can't remember the ending :) The one advantage of old-age memory loss is that you can see movies over again, and it's like seeing it for the first time!
Seeing what for the first time?
My eyes are fine! Where’s the DMV again?
Exactly what I thought about, great movie.
There are less options for Seniors to earn money. A life of crime, shouldn't be one of them .
Indeed, unfortunately the same atrocious economy that makes it hard for the younger generations to buy houses and the like has also made the average retirement account far too low of a value. Biden certainly wasn’t the first, but spending and inflation under “the big guy” pretty much put the nail in the coffin for a large swath of Americans. Some continue to fight the good fight and support Trump, but a lot of people panic and believe the lies of the leftist stooges. Sad times for our once (and soon to be again!) glorious country.
Doesn't help that most companies outside of Walmart won't hire you if you look like you're over 45.
Given the Seniors are a high percentage of the wealthiest consumers in the Nation. An American owned company that hired Seniors MIGHT have a strong demand overnight..
I k ow hundreds of seniors living on 1700 a month. Most of rhem on SS. They dont have money. They barely exist.
There are also loads of Seniors with big Pensions. Pensions that will never be this big again..
Sauce? I've never heard that seniors are a hig percentage of the wealthiest consumers in America. Where did you get that info?
When you think about it, for an elderly person, prison isn't much different from being in a low quality nursing home.
Some of the elderly have nothing much to lose. If you do nothing, you end up in low quality abusive setting. If you get caught, you end up in a similar low quality abusive setting. On the 50% chance you don't get caught... you have a comfy retirement.
Not much downside risk.
Throwing this out there:
Lots of room for growth in at-home care…
Prison is probably safer and better health care rhan a nursing home yku get free. Young people love to shit on their parents and grand parents and blame them for their laziness and failures. While you rage against the boomer you get poorer for v Believing the lie.
Not every elderly person is willing to sell their soul. These are people, who I am willing to bet, were willing to be dishonest with taxes, etc. They probably are the same people who march with BLM and Anifa-anything for a buck, no morals, no sense of embarassment.
Oh yeah.. These are the people who scammed their way through life, got food stamps and Medical Assistance and never did a dame thing to support themselves or their brood. They just keep on doing ehat they have been doing for a long, long time. This is not a new thing for seniors. These people have been doing this all their life.
It is NOT something that regular, NORMAL people fo. This is the criminal element that has been doing this their entire life.
Exactly they didnt just suddenly lose their values. However why should anybody obey the law of man anymore. Those who enforce it dont follow it.
Thank you for pointing this out. This happens more than people realize.
Seniors are a forgotten group in this country. They often have their backs against the wall fighting to survive and next to zero ways to supplement what little money they do get. Their pensions, if they have one, or social security, do not keep pace with the rising cost of just living. Many have trimmed all unnecessary expenses that younger people take for granted. There is nothing left to cut except food and medicine.
A fixed income gives them few choices when they own their homes and property taxes increase - just like you said. Their only option at that point is to try and sell their home they have probably lived in for decades. If they haven't been able to keep up with necessary repairs, that makes the process even more difficult and they are forced to sell at a huge loss. At that point they end up becoming a renter if they can't move in with family. As renters, there is always the constant threat of rental costs increasing that they can't afford. There is affordable housing available for families, but the disabled and elderly, the availability is sparse if at all. If the homeowners insurance takes a hike in premiums, seniors are forced to drop their insurance and then keep their fingers crossed that nothing happens. Assistance for seniors is a joke and almost non existent. The focus is always on families with kids - and many of them are illegals. EBT pays probably less than $100/mo, if at all. Owning their own home, forget it. They don't qualify.
It is not surprising that some seniors have taken the risk and chosen to earn some much needed cash this way - especially when the cartels specifically target them with an offer that is hard to turn down. Their circumstances don't make it the right thing to do, but I understand it.
You are welcome and thank you for recognizing the brutal truth about what our seniors face. Hopefully, that will be something that the Trump team will address when they get some of this other garbage cleaned up.
I’m really disappointed that you think that was what I was saying. That could not be further from the truth! I think that it is very sad that we have elderly people that feel like they have to resort to criminal behavior in order to survive. I’m even more disturbed by the criminals that use vulnerable people to do their dirty work for them. It was a crazy experience for me because I saw it happen first hand and was shocked and disgusted by it.
I think you're misreading his tone here. "Bent over 6 times" as in "he's screwing you financially, conman style, etc"
Well now they're earning $0.10/hr making license plates.
And yet the Democrats rely on the elderly to keep voting for them! It's pitiful how the Democrats enslave so many different social groups through lies and handouts.
Takes one line "republicans want to ateal your SS" blah blah blah
Reminds me of college...
Girls would always say, "Aww what a sweet old man!"
And TaQo was like, "What are you kidding? He's had you bent over 6 times in his mind already... You have no idea..."
Filthy old bastard!
I popped a snowbird RV full of weed once. Came from Arizona. Two white retired people.
