The same way that the government has been suppressing Ivermectin and Hydrochloroquide over the years, just like other helpful medications...
... the government also may have been suppressing medications that would help drug addicts overcome the addiction and withdrawal symptoms, so more people can successfully get OFF of the drugs. Illegal drugs in the United States create a huge black market industry, an estimated $200-$750 billion a year in size. Corrupt people in our government have been getting rich based on keeping people addicted. They would have huge incentive to block any ways of curing the addictions.
I really hope someone at the NHC or FDA looks into that, to see if there are some ways to combat the drug problem from the addiction side too, while the supply side is being handled.
I have also read that politicians and especially ex-presidents divide up the U.S. and get a cut of the drugs sold in their respective areas and it is not hard for me to believe at all.
Sadly, the answer to addiction isn't that easy. First we have to look at the root cause. From personal experience I can tell you it starts with getting back to solid families. Too many baby daddies and not enough Real Dads. That and stop the vaccines.

If they weren't drug boats, you'd think word would get out that the US was blowing them out of the water and not go toward the US. Except they keep trying. Thats the biggest hint they're not good actors.
I'm curious as to how they know drugs are on these boats? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are doing what's needed.

The boating community is FREAKING out about this. It is the primary talk in the cruising community.
They are recommending that everyone -- American or not -- contact the US coast guard to report their boat details, where they are going from/to, why, etc so that they don't get mistaken for a drug boat if in questionable waters.
A lot of recreational boaters have changed their plans to stay far far away from the areas in question. Some, however, were already in the area (ie Cartagena, Colombia is a very popular place to keep a boat during hurricane season) and they are TERRIFIED about being misidentified.
Hopefully Chuck Schumer's yacht is mistaken for being one of "those boats". :>)
Who knows? His yacht probably is carrying some illegal stuff, so it's not totally wrong.

I asked Grok how this is done and it is very detailed. Sorry, I didn't take time to copy it here. However, it is multi-layered. From ongoing surveillance, to whether it is intercepted, which included boarding the boat. They have studied the routes used, know which types of boats are generally used and how they differ from pleasure boats. Then it goes into using heat detection tools and such. I feel better now knowing they aren't just picking a boat to blow up.
I don't think they are really boats full of drugs. Wouldn't drugs spilling into the ocean be hazardous.
Probably, something even bigger is going on behind the scenes.
