I highly disagree with this statement. But Walmart has the cheapest food in terms of nutrients. 95% all processed foods. You can’t even buy plain cornmeal- it is all self rising.
I think I read somewhere on GAW in one of the comments where someone worked for Walmart and the manager tried enforcing proof of ID and by noon, there was almost riots. I have no reason to not believe that.

I respond to people that go 'its illegal to give benefits to illegals!' with a list of all of the illegal things corporate America does constantly without being penalized - either individually or via breakup - everything from pharma payments to doctors based on prescription volume to monopolistic practices that arent ever prosecuted and ask them why, if these things are illegal, do they happen so often that they are common knowledge.

In my small town Walmart is the ONLY option. There is a small grocery store with prices way higher than Walmart.

Out here in California there's a large grocery store chain called WinCo Foods.
Their prices are very competitive to Walmart.
Lots of people whipping out their SNAP cards.
So maybe reducing SNAP will bring down prices as now they have to compete for the general consumer? Hope that's the case.
