Most if not all sports teams are government subsidized circuses ... they didn't get all of that public money for stadiums and arenas to keep the games honest and competitive. They got it to push "the message".
The fucking NBA and NFL's minor leagues are made up of a LOT of publicly funded university teams (yeah, I know, they "make money for muh education/schoolz" ... they also cost an awful lot to run). Trust me, that's costing you a LOT.
The amount of public tax dollars many of those teams get to stay afloat via stadium deals makes me want to puke ... teams and governments have ZERO interest in paying down any debt on those stadiums ... your tax dollars are paying for the interest on the bonds that built those dumps ... I don't care what fucking tax they have on tickets to that shit ... it is nowhere near what's needed to pay down those bonds in a reasonable amount of time.
Pro sports is no different than Hollywood getting all sorts of tax breaks (i.e. public subsidies) for their downright terrible dress up and play pretend while preaching woke vomit garbage!!!!

Anyway, if you are looking to break the NFL habit and a step down method from that drug, a good way is to watch the 20 min highlight reels ... most NFL games are about 20 minutes of real action/plays ... the other 2h 40m is garbage filler designed to fill your head with nonsense and make you want to spend money on shit you don't need. Most importantly, you don't get all caught up in the fucking ridiculous drama scumbag announcers create ... seriously, it's like the got soap opera writers to tell these fucking idiots what to broadcast during games. They make nothing off those, and you'll start to realize how much time you waste on nonsense.
Moreover, you can get a lot of shit done on a Sunday during NFL season since the roads are mostly empty with everyone at home watching that piss and shit :-).
