Apparently you can just copy and paste redacted portions into a different document (Word, Notepad, Docs, etc) and read what is under the redacted text. It feels like this was done on purpose.

Today I'm thankful for Elon Musk & DOGE canceling the multiple expensive Adobe Acrobat Pro memberships which have the "redact" function... Which forced incompetent government officials running the free version of Adobe Acrobat to use Black blocks for redactions on the Epstein files which were easily bypassed by the cut n paste feature. 😂

That is incorrect. You are able to bypass the redactions for a lot of pages in many documents.

It doesnt work on all of them though. They probably had different teams doing redactions and some of them did the pdf overlay method which is able to be bypassed.

This is one of the only reasons why maybe CSAM material should be legal: guilty elites can corrupt the system to prevent LE from going after them and you can't possess evidence to investigate their wrongdoings yourself, so they can just get away with abuse and we won't know what they're doing because it's illegal to research basically

Obama's birth certificate has been up on the gov website for years. You can literally download it, open in adobe and move all the layers around. Signatures, names, etc.... it's been in our face for years.
I've seen it, and they forgot to "flatten" the layers. You could open the file in Photoshop and move the layers around.
Show me proof... find a document that was redacted and then officially unredacted. Then use your process on the original redacted file and see if it's identical.
Now use a duplicate checker to remove the old archived pdfs. Which ones are left are the ones that were changed and can be unmasked.

tl;dr did anyone learn anything from alleged botched redactions?
This type of fake redaction has been happening all over the world for many years and I have personally taken advantage of it in the past. I was not aware until now that you needed the Acrobat Pro version to do properly effective redactions - I just assumed it was incompetence on the part of the document owner. Considering the length of time I have seen this "fake redaction" happening by multiple organisations I am certain it is not some sort of 5D-chess, purposely using a redaction method which they know will easily be defeated.
I would like to say as well that many of the redactions have been hugely disappointing - you think you've scored a big reveal but it turns out to be a completely uninteresting event by a pathetically control-freakist organisation.
