I have been audited. Came out clean because I am clean!! But the time to collect records, anxiety of course, and accountant expense were very significant! NO FUN - AFTER all the time to document each line and file the returns to begin with!!
While we learn that millions and billions are siphoned off from taxpayers, with officials looking the other way!
ABOUT TIME they need to go after the big criminals, but is always easier to go after the little guy who has done nothing wrong.
[Example: are you business miles written? Yes, so I gave my spreadsheet. Do you have original records? Yes so I xeroxed the pages in the book I keep in my car.]
Yet the fraudsters get millions, without having any real children in day cares, or records of any people getting food or transportation or any services what so ever?!?
