I'm a retired artist myself but have to admit that I LOATHE the concept of street murals to begin with -- but they're into that...expression so they shouldn't complain about the type of graffiti they end up getting once they allow it on their buildings.
To clear things up -- I painted on canvas and was represented by a gallery. I was a totally different kind of artist.
I never had to worry about that. I
"married well" as they used to say back in the day -- so it didn't really matter. It only matters in the sense that if your work doesn't sell, the gallery will drop you in favor of another artist.
