Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was a a no-show at his own succession rally in Tehran, with supporters left to use a large picture of him in his stead.
Well duh. He's not stupid.
His followers don't want him made a target either. It would also put his followers in danger if he was there.
Agree, he knows he's a target or, maybe he's already dead(?).
Just sayin' - with our high-tech weapons (of various kinds), it's likely he could precisely be taken out with minimal collateral deaths and damage. And, that might happen (or did happen), even if he does (did) his best to avoid it.
This makes me timhing he's not just in hiding, but either severely wounded or dead and what's left of the IRGC is doin whatever they can to cover it up right now.
